The NBA Draft is almost here…finally. Amid a pandemic-impacted 2019-20 campaign in which the season was delayed over four months, the NBA calendar required a push-back. Thus, the 2020 draft will be occurring on Wednesday, Nov. 18, with the Minnesota Timberwolves receiving the top overall selection.

While this draft class isn’t as stacked as previous ones, there’s still a significant amount of talent entering the NBA for the 2020-21 season, regardless of when it ultimately begins. Having said that, let’s take a look at the latest odds for the No. 1 overall pick, courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Anthony Edwards Favored To Go #1

Georgia shooting guard Anthony Edwards possesses the highest odds to go No. 1 overall in the upcoming draft after a stellar 2019-20 season with the Bulldogs, despite the fact that it was cut short due to the pandemic. In 32 games, Edwards posted average marks of 19.1 points and 5.2 rebounds on 40.2% shooting and 29.4% from behind the arc. Oddsmakers believe he’ll go to Minnesota, where he would make a difference for a team that was 19-45 prior to the season shutdown.

LaMelo Ball Almost 2/1 Odds To Go #1

The 19-year-old LaMelo Ball is currently second on the odds sheet at +195 to go No. 1 overall to the Timberwolves. Having decided not to play college ball, Ball most recently played with the Illawarra Hawks of NBL Australia. In 12 games this past season, the younger brother of Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball put up 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game on 37.5% shooting from the field. The Golden State Warriors currently hold the No. 2 spot in the draft, but it’s unclear if they’ll go with a point guard considering they already employ superstar Steph Curry.

James Wiseman at +785 despite withdrawing from school

The standout center left Memphis is December in order to prepare for the 2020 NBA Draft, and despite only playing three games at the collegiate level, oddsmakers (and scouts) still believe he’ll be one of the top picks. In that trio of matchups for the Tigers last season, Wiseman put up 19.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks on nearly 77% shooting.
