The NBA Draft is creeping closer and will finally arrive on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Of course, the draft would’ve normally been months ago, but in this pandemic-impacted year, nothing has been normal whatsoever.

While DraftKings Sportsbook has provided the odds for the No. 1 overall pick (with Georgia shooting guard Anthony Edwards leading the charge), they’ve also provided player draft positions, deciphering if a player will go before or after a certain selection.

And just like the No. 1 pick odds suggest, DraftKings has Edwards hovering around that top choice.

Disclaimer: “Over” means a pick after the listed draft position, while “under” means a pick before that listed position.

LaMelo Ball Over 2.5 (+180) Under 2.5 (-225)
James Wiseman Over 2.5 (-225) Under 2.5 (+180)
Anthony Edwards Over 1.5 (+187) Under 1.5 (-235)
Obi Toppin Over 4.5 (-118) Under 4.5 (-104)

Anthony Edwards hovering around the top spot

It’s clear the oddsmakers believe the Georgia standout possesses the best chance to go No. 1 overall, considering they have his over-under draft position at 1.5. They feel the same way for the No. 1 pick odds as well, placing Edwards at -235 in those regards. There’s a good chance Edwards could find his way to Minnesota — the Timberwolves possess the No. 1 pick after going 19-45 this past season. Nonetheless, despite the fact that going No. 1 overall would be a dream come true, Edwards may be better off going No. 2 and finding himself a part of the Golden State Warriors.

LaMelo Ball favored over James Wiseman at No. 2

Despite James Wiseman’s sheer talent, oddsmakers feel LaMelo Ball will be selected at No. 2 over the former Memphis Tiger. Ball is currently -225 to be picked before 2.5 and +180 to be selected after, while Wiseman is vice versa in those regards. Nonetheless, it’s unclear if the Warriors would select a player like Ball, considering they already employ a superstar point guard in Steph Curry. Nonetheless, anything could occur on draft night, so we’ll see.

Obi Toppin hovering around the No. 4-5 spots

Obi Toppin is tied for the fifth-best odds to go No. 1 overall on DraftKings Sportsbook —  he and Killian Hayes are both +10000. Thus, it makes sense why oddsmakers have the Dayton forward at over-under pick No. 4.5.

This places Toppin right around the time the Chicago Bulls (No. 4) and Cleveland Cavaliers (No. 5 ) choose. I can’t see him slipping down the board to the point where he falls into the Knicks’ hands at No. 8, but again, anything can occur on draft night, whether it’s a surprise pick or a big trade.
