The most popular event for golf betting is the Masters, which tees off tomorrow. The odds have settled, the public has sent in a majority of their wagers and the golfers have begun to practice in preparation for golf’s biggest tournament. There is still time to place wagers however, which is great news as DraftKings has provided the public betting percentages for this year’s tournament. This can help give you an edge for last-minute golf betting.
With the Masters set to begin tomorrow, here is a breakdown of the public betting percentages so far at DraftKings Sportsbook. We find out who the public is betting on most, how bettors are leaning towards Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth, and more. Let’s take a look.
Masters Public Betting Information
|Golfer||Odds||% of Money||% of Bets|
As you can see, the bettors are leaning towards Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Bryson DeChambeau most as the trio makes up a total of 33% of all the money wagered on the Masters at DraftKings Sportsbook. Oddly, Dustin Johnson is NOT in the top three in terms of total money wagered or total bets, so is there slight value compared to the public on the former champion? Let’s dive a bit deeper into the numbers.
Betting Public Heavy on Jordan Spieth for 2021 Masters
As you can see, the betting public is heavy on Jordan Spieth this week after his win in last week’s Valero Texas Open. At +1150, he is behind Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and is tied with Justin Thomas. Are you betting on Jordan Spieth this week?

Entering Masters week, Spieth is in top form. He has played in seven events so far in the 2021 calendar year, and. has made six straight cuts and has placed in the top five in four of these six events. Here’s a look at Spieth’s finishes since February began:
- T4 in Waste Management Open
- T3 in AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am
- T15 in The Genesis Invitational
- T4 in the Arnold Palmer Invitational
- T48 in The PLAYERS
- Won the Valero Texas Open
It is quite obvious that Spieth has been playing well, which is why the public is backing him this week at +1150 with 14% of the money on him and 10% of all bets.
Dustin Johnson Public Betting Percentage
Surprisingly enough, Dustin Johnson is not among the top three golfers in terms of total handle or total percentage of bets taken at DraftKings Sportsbook for the Masters. His odds sit at +950 to win the Masters, but he is receiving just six percent of the total betting handle and six percent of the total bets. Is that too low?
Most bettors likely tend to avoid the favorite, especially in a prestigious golf tournament where the favorite’s odds are under 10:1. In addition, Johnson just won the 2020 Masters and only three golfers have ever won the Masters in back-to-back years. If Johnson wins this year, he will make six percent of Masters bettors happy, but expect some late money to come in on the reigning champion. He was incredibly last fall, and can certainly play this course to his advantage.
