With the 2020 election in the books, the focus for the political betting futures market is on the 2024 election odds. Will Donald Trump run again? Will Kamala Harris run separately after serving a term as Vice President? What about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Time will tell, but one thing is for sure…despite how crazy 2020 was for the betting market the 2024 one will be even crazier. Let’s take a look at the latest odds, a look at which candidates are favored, and some potential longshots for the 2024 US election.

U.S. Presidential Election Odds 2024

Candidate Odds to win 2024 Presidential Election
Joe Biden +500
Kamala Harris +600
Donald Trump +900
Nikki Haley +1100
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez +1300
Donald Trump Jr. +1500
Mike Pence +1500
Ivanka Trump +1900
Beto O’Rourke +2300
Pete Buttigieg +2300
Paul Ryan +2600
Eric Holder +2600
Michelle Obama +3400
Bernie Sanders +3400
Oprah Winfrey +3400
Tom Cotton +3400
Marco Rubio +3400
Elizabeth Warren +3400

As of early December 2020, Joe Biden was the favorite to win the 2024 election which is quite standard for a sitting president this far out. But, he is not an overwhelming favorite by any stretch of imagination. There are seven candidates that are all 15/1 or better right now, which means it could be a very tight race. These candidates are:

  • Joe Biden +500
  • Kamala Harris +600
  • Donald Trump +900
  • Nikky Haley +1100
  • Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez +1300
  • Donald Trump Jr. +1500
  • Mike Pence +1500

Ivanka Trump, Beto O’Rourke and others are on the table as well but all have odds that are 19/1 or worse as of early December 2020. What is quite interesting is that there are three Trumps on the odds list. In addition, Michelle Obama’s odds are evident at +3400. Being four years out means we could see a candidate come out of nowhere, for example Mark Cuban could run in 2024. But for the time being, Joe Biden is the favorite to win with Kamala Harris and others behind.

Donald Trump is +900 to win 2024 Election

Would Donald Trump run for president in 2024 after losing the election in 2020? The oddsmakers seem to believe so, along with Marco Rubio in the above tweet as he mentioned that Trump would be the nominee in 2024 should he choose to run. Currently, Donald Trump’s odds sit at +900 to win the 2024 election, the third-highest odds behind the President-elect and Vice President-elect. Will we see Biden vs. Trump again in 2024? It seems possible, but again there is a lot of time between now and then.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Election Odds Rise

One of the most popular candidates amongst young people in 2024 will undoubtedly be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, known as “AOC”. She was not old enough to run for POTUS in 2020, but will be turning 35 years old just before the 2024 election, making her eligible to run for Commander-in-Chief. Currently, Ocasio-Cortez’ odds are +1300 to win the 2024 election, but with how popular the 2020 election was for young people it will certainly be a betting market to follow as she is expected to draw a ton of interest and popularity.

Should AOC run in 2024, her campaign will be very interesting to follow as she has prided herself on not raising any money from corporations or anything of the like. Will she be able to compete if she is a nominee?
