LSU vs. UCLA Week 1
Notre Dame vs. Florida State Week 1
Some Early Week 1 Picks…..
With these six games having their odds released for Week 1 of the CFB season, there is some value to be had on both the spreads and moneylines. Here are our early betting picks for Week 1.
UNC vs. Virginia Tech
- UNC (-6.5)
- UNC ML (-230)
UNC may have lost a lot of their skill players, but they return one of the best quarterbacks in the country and are set to see massive odds movement as the season approaches.
Georgia vs. Clemson
- Clemson (-4)
- Clemson ML (-182)
Clemson lost Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne to the NFL, but return some of the better recruiting classes in college football from the last few seasons. The Tigers continue to reload, and the next quarterback ready to go from Clemson to the NFL is DJ Uiagalelei, whose skills will be on-hand for Week 1. Clemson at home would be closer to 7-point favorites, but this game in a neutral site makes it -4. Keep in mind that Charlotte is a short drive from Clemson, SC though.
Penn State vs. Wisconsin
- PSU (+3.5)
- PSU ML (+123)
The spread (+3.5) is a better value than the moneyline at the moment, as this is expected to be a close one. It will be interesting to see how Penn State bounces back in 2021.
Alabama vs. Miami
- Alabama (-17.5)
The Crimson Tide moneyline is -1000, which is a ton of juice so taking the spread is the play here despite a very high number. With that said, Alabama is likely to be favored by more than three touchdowns by Week 1, so you will get plenty of value here. Yes, Alabama lost Mac Jones, Najee Harris, Jaylen Waddle, DeVonta Smith and others. No, it does not matter.
LSU vs. UCLA Week 1
- LSU (-4.5)
This line has already moved, as it opened at -1.5 right away at FanDuel, then was taken off the board. Expect it close closer to a touchdown by the time Week 1 comes around.
