Alabama is one of the best teams in college football year in and year out. Even though 2020 has been anything but a normal season, the Crimson Tide still find themselves as the odds-on favorite to win the National Championship at -105.

Clemson isn’t far behind Bama. The Tigers are +250 odds to win it all despite the fact that they lost to Notre Dame earlier this year. Clemson will have a rematch against the Fighting Irish in the ACC Championship and this time around, they will have Trevor Lawrence under center. Lawrence missed Clemson’s first matchup with Notre Dame after a positive COVID-19 test. The Fighting Irish are sitting at +1100 odds to win the National Championship.

Despite the fact that Ohio State has only played five games this season, they are still in the mix at +550 odds. The Buckeyes future schedule and playoff hopes are up in the air due to the latest BIG10 game cancelation with Michigan.

The last two teams that are hanging around are Florida (+1600) and Texas A&M (+3000). The Gators will face the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game. That matchup will essentially be a play-in game for the College Football Playoff. Should Florida pull off the upset, the voting for the CFP will get awfully interesting.

Ohio State is almost a lock to make it at this point. The winner of Clemson-Notre Dame will secure another spot which leaves two open slots. The winner of the SEC Championship Game will grab another spot in the College Football Playoff. That would leave one spot for Texas A&M, the loser in Florida-Alabama, and the loser in Clemson-Notre Dame.

The voters are going to have a tough time whittling this year’s College Football Playoff down to four teams.
