Colin Cowherd Blazing 5 Thanksgiving Picks NFL Week 13 2019

Colin Cowherd Blazing 5 Thanksgiving Picks NFL Week 13 2019

Cowherd NFL picks this week

FoxSports’ Colin Cowherd has turned into quite the handicapper, for better or for worse. In what is called the “Blazing 5” segment on “The Herd”, Cowherd breaks down his favorite five games and makes five picks each week of the NFL season.

After starting out hot, Cowherd has been cold, but has rallied again. Some bad beats, some good wins, some bad picks, and more. Entering Week 12, his record was 28-25-2.

Last week, Cowherd’s Blazing 5:

Denver Broncos +3.5 @ Buffalo Bills – LOSS

New York Giants +6.5 @ Chicago Bears – WIN

Oakland Raiders -3 @ New York Jets – LOSS

Seattle Seahawks -1.5 @ Philadelphia Eagles – WIN

Dallas Cowboys +6.5 @ New England Patriots – WIN

Cowherd went 3-2 last week, and has rallied after getting close to .500. Cowherd and Blazin’ 5 bettors received a gift from Jason Garrett, choosing to kick a field goal in the red zone down seven points in the fourth quarter. In addition, the Giants scoring a touchdown late in the fourth quarter helped propel the Giants +6.5 for the Blazin’ 5. All in all, a positive Week 12.

Cowherd Blazing 5 Record For 2019-2020 NFL Season

31-27-2

NFL Thanksgiving Week 13 Colin Cowherd Blazing 5 Picks

Cowherd’s Thanksgiving week 13 NFL picks are located below. His Blazing 5 Picks passed on all 3 Thanksgiving Day games.

  • Miami Dolphins +9.5 at home over Philadelphia Eagles
  • Arizona Cardinals +3 at home over Los Angeles Rams
  • Oakland Raiders +9.5 on the road over Kansas City Chiefs
  • Baltimore Ravens -6 at home over San Francisco 49ers
  • Carolina Panthers -10 at home over the Washington Redskins

In Week 13, Cowherd likes two favorites (Ravens and Panthers) and three underdogs (Dolphins, Cardinals, Raiders).

Of the five picks, Cowherd likes four home teams: Dolphins, Cardinals, Ravens, and Panthers but just one road team this week in the Raiders.

Cowherd explained he still thinks the Chiefs win over Oakland, but 9.5 points is too much to not take the Raiders off an embarrassing loss to the Jets.

The Blazin’ 5 has a winning record in nine of 12 weeks so far this season, and with an early show in Week 13 with Thanksgiving, Cowherd looks to improve to 10 for 13.

Cowherd Blazin’ 5 Pick by Pick Analysis

Miami Dolphins +9.5 at home over Philadelphia Eagles

9.5 points is too many to spot the Dolphins, says Cowherd. The Eagles have struggled mightily on offense, but they may be returning a few injured starters from Lane Johnson to Alshon Jeffery to Jordan Howard. Nevertheless, Cowherd is hopping on the Eagles struggle bus saying the Dolphins have been competitive with Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The Dolphins issue has been defensively, and since the Eagles have vastly struggled to move the ball of late it makes sense that Cowherd likes Miami given 9.5 points. If the Eagles struggle this weekend, the sky will be falling in Philadelphia.

Arizona Cardinals +3 at home over Los Angeles Rams

The Rams were just destroyed by the Ravens at home, and Jalen Ramsey was fired up after the loss. Coming off a bye, Cowherd really likes rookie quarterback Kyler Murray getting points against a clearly struggling Rams team. Essentially Cowherd likes: good quarterback, off a bye, at home, against a struggling team.

Murray will be a huge part of this divisional picture for years to come, but the Cardinals are not a good team yet. +3 seems tough given the Rams’ overall talent, but Cowherd likes the underdog here.

Oakland Raiders +9.5 on the road over Kansas City Chiefs

As mentioned above, Cowherd still thinks the Chiefs win this game but 9.5 points is too much to “spot Derek Carr”, per The Herd’s host.

This is a monumental game for the Raiders if they want to remain in the playoff hunt. Whether it’s a division title or a wild card spot, this game will certainly be part of a determination for both teams as they try to improve their records down the stretch. Mahomes vs. Carr, Raiders OL against the Chiefs DL, and more. This shapes up to be a fun game to watch.

Baltimore Ravens -6 at home over San Francisco 49ers

In what could be a Super Bowl preview, this week’s game of the week is Ravens and Niners. Without a doubt, these are two of the best teams in the NFL but Cowherd likes MVP-favorite Lamar Jackson to cover just six points at home against an elite 49ers defense.

No one has been able to stop Lamar Jackson yet this season, so it will be interesting to see how the Ravens approach this week’s game plan. As for the Ravens’ defense, the unit has massively improved so it will be a battle of wits between Kyle Shanahan and Greg Roman offensively against two very good defenses.

Carolina Panthers -10 at home over the Washington Redskins

10 points is a lot of points, so if books have -9.5 that is a better number of course. Cowherd thinks the Redskins have nothing. No offensive line, no defense, Josh Norman has been benched and the Panthers have the best player on the field on both sides of the ball. It’s rare to see a huge favorite in the Blazing 5, but that’s who Cowherd likes this week.

Game Analysis

Mitchell Trubisky against Matthew Stafford? Maybe.

There is potential we could see Jeff Driskel against Chase Daniel, but for different reasons. Stafford has been battling injury, and Trubisky has played poorly and may be “benched” with an injury.

Expect the Bears and Lions to both run the football, as both offenses tend to run with their deficiencies at quarterback. If Stafford can go though, this changes the odds. Keep tabs on this.

UPDATE: Jeff Driskel is the backup now to undrafted free agent quarterback David Blough. The total has dropped from 38.5 to 37, and the Bears are now -4.5 from -3.5.

Game Analysis

In the sports betting world, bettors love to take advantage of a team coming off a “hangover”. The Cowboys are turning around and playing Buffalo just a few days after traveling to New England to play the Super Bowl Odds favored Patriots in a very tough loss.

The Buffalo defense is talented, and they have the players to match up with Prescott, Elliott, and Cooper.

Buffalo is in the playoff hunt for a reason, and can give the Cowboys a game. Don’t be surprised if Buffalo covers on Thanksgiving.

Game Analysis

To be a home underdog is rare in the NFL, but here we are on Thanksgiving with the Falcons being 6.5-point dogs.

It’s not a surprise though, as the Saints are one of the better teams in the NFL and look to be the NFC favorite to reach the Super Bowl.

Atlanta beat the Saints in New Orleans in Week 10, and will be looking at taking two from their divisional rival, this time in Atlanta. Expect a lot of points, and a lot of Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, and Alvin Kamara.

Scott Van Pelt Picks Week 13 College Football 2019

Scott Van Pelt Picks Week 13 College Football 2019

Each week, ESPN’s own Scott Van Pelt gives his favorite picks for College Football on SportsCenter, in a segment called Winner$.

Last week, SVP was 2-3 to continue his “worst year of Winner$ we’ve ever had.

SVP Picks Record to Date:  41-49

SVP Week 13 College Football Picks

SVP likes five games this week, all five being underdogs and three being home dogs. Let’s take a look:

  • Indiana +9.5 vs. Michigan
  • Duke +7 AT Wake Forest
  • Texas +5.5 AT Baylor
  • Northwestern +13.5 vs. Minnesota
  • Colorado +14 vs. Washington

In the segment, SVP is clearly upset at his record but defers to Stanford Steve, who likes UCLA +13.5 against USC.

SVP Pick by Pick Analysis

Indiana +9.5 vs. (#13) Michigan

The B1G battle between a surprising 7-3 Indiana team and #13 Michigan has SVP’s eye, as he picks Indiana with the points. The Hoosiers can score, averaging 33.3 points per game and nearly 450 yards of offense, so Michigan will need to match them to cover.

Duke +7 AT Wake Forest

SVP picks Duke, AGAIN! All time, SVP is 2-1 when picking Duke and they have a tough one on the road at Wake Forest this week. Wake is 7-3, and Duke has struggled on the season with just four wins. Wake has one of the better offenses in the ACC, averaging 449 yards per game, so Duke +7 will be a tough one.

Texas +5.5 AT (#14) Baylor

The “Fighting McConaughey’s” as SVP calls them, are getting only 5.5 points this week, despite playing on the road in a conference game against a one-loss team. Matt Rhule and the Baylor Bears lost a tough one last week to Oklahoma, likely ending their hopes for the college football playoff.

Northwestern +13.5 vs. (#10) Minnesota

Minnesota lost their first game of the season last week to Iowa, and like Baylor, likely ending their chance at the playoff. But P.J. Fleck will have the Gophers ready to go against a Northwestern team that lost seven straight before a 45-6 win over UMass last week.

Colorado +14 vs. Washington

The Washington Huskies had high hopes for this season, but a disappointing 6-4 record has them as only 14 point favorites against Colorado. SVP likes Colorado at home after their 16-13 win against Stanford two weeks ago.

Now that you are ready for to make your college football picks, go check out the Cowherd Blazing 5 Picks for your NFL action.

Colin Cowherd Blazing 5 Thanksgiving Picks NFL Week 13 2019

Colin Cowherd Blazing 5 Picks NFL Week 12 2019

Cowherd NFL picks this week

FoxSports’ Colin Cowherd has turned into quite the handicapper, for better or for worse. In what is called the “Blazing 5” segment on “The Herd”, Cowherd breaks down his favorite five games and makes five picks each week of the NFL season.

After starting out hot, Cowherd’s picks have been ice cold of late. Entering Week 11, his record was 26-23-1.

Last week, Cowherd’s Blazing 5:

Houston Texans +4 @ Baltimore Ravens – LOSS

Denver Broncos +10.5 @ Minnesota Vikings – WIN

New York Jets +2 @ Washington Redskins – WIN

Arizona Cardinals +10 @ San Francisco 49ers – PUSH

Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers +4 – LOSS

Cowherd went 2-2-1 last week, and is dangerously close to .500. Cowherd and bettors did receive a bad break with the Cardinals +10, as the Niners scored on a broken, last-second play. With that being said, the Texans +4 pick was a poor result, as the Ravens crushed the Texans 41-7.

Cowherd Blazing 5 Record For 2019-2020 NFL Season

28-25-2

NFL Week 12 Colin Cowherd Blazing 5 Picks

Cowherd’s five NFL picks for this week are:

  • Broncos @ Bills – DEN +3.5
  • Giants @ Bears – NYG +6.5
  • Raiders @ Jets – OAK -3
  • Seahawks @ Eagles – SEA -1.5
  • Cowboys @ Patriots – DAL +6.5

Cowherd likes FIVE road teams this week. Almost unheard of, but his Blazin’ 5 has all road teams. Broncos in Buffalo, Giants in Chicago, Raiders in New York, Seahawks in Philly, and Dallas in New England.

Cowherd also picks the Cowboys to easily cover against the 2020 Super Bowl odds favored Patriots. Interesting.

Cowherd Blazin’ 5 Pick by Pick Analysis

Broncos @ Bills – DEN +3.5

Cowherd loves the Broncos in Week 12, as he starts his Blazin’ 5 with Denver. The Broncos are a much better football team of late, and he loves their defensive line against Buffalo.

Giants @ Bears – NYG +6.5

It’s fun to pick against Mitch Trubisky (if he starts), but Cowherd notes that Daniel Jones has played quite well, but the Giants are a bad team so no one recognizes it. Cowherd likes getting nearly a touchdown against “the worst offense in football”.

Raiders @ Jets – OAK -3

Cowherd is right about this game in terms of analysis, saying the Raiders have a massive advantage on the offensive line. The one thing he did say was Sam Darnold being under pressure, which would echo the Raiders’ performance last week with Maxx Crosby getting four sacks.

Seahawks @ Eagles – SEA -1.5

Colin really likes the fact that the Seahawks added Josh Gordon and Jadeveon Clowney, but the real story here is simple. Lane Johnson is likely out, which puts an old and worn down Jason Peters and Andre Dillard at right tackle, and Dillard has expressed a vast worry about moving from LT to RT. Also, Russell Wilson may be the NFL MVP.

Cowboys @ Patriots – DAL +6.5

Colin notes just how many points the Cowboys are getting in New England. This is a potential Super Bowl preview, but the Cowboys will need to improve their consistency to get there. The Patriots get their left tackle back, which helps.

Latest CFP Playoff Champion Odds: Ohio State Now Favored

Latest CFP Playoff Champion Odds: Ohio State Now Favored

Week 12 was a crazy one in college football, even if you followed SVP and his picks! Georgia held off Auburn on the final drive, Iowa State upset Texas, West Virginia upset Kansas State, undefeated Minnesota lost a tough one to the Iowa Hawkeyes to end their title hopes, and Oklahoma had a comeback for the ages and defeated Baylor 34-31.

Oddly, none of those were the most newsworthy in Week 12. In an unfortunate turn of events, Tua Tagovailoa seriously injured his hip and is out for the season, and likely has played his last snap for the University of Alabama.

From the sports betting point of view, of course that changes his Heisman Odds but Joe Burrow has made that a one-man race.

From the National Champions Futures Market point of view, it has changed everything.

Latest Odds To Win College Football National Title

DraftKings Sportsbook provided a chart that shows the top six programs in current odds to win the National Championship, compared to their odds last week (entering Week 12). Take a look.

Notable CFB National Champion Winner Odds Movements
Team Pre-Week 12 Current Odds
Ohio State +225 +200
Clemson +225 +225
LSU +275 +250
Georgia +1000 +900
Alabama +1200 +2000
Penn State +5000 +6600
Provided by DraftKings Sportsbook

Ohio State

THE Ohio State University, as so many alumni refer to the school as, is in sole possession of being the favorite to win the National Championship at +200 on DraftKings Sportsbook. They were +225 last week, but move into sole possession after Week 12.

Clemson

Clemson saw no movement in their odds, but fell to second behind Ohio State to win the National Championship. They are still +225, but likely have the easiest path of the top six given the schedule for the rest of the season. Clemson is a very talented football team though, hence why this is the first week all season that Clemson has not been the favorite to win the title. Until now, Clemson has always had the best odds to win the entire thing.

LSU

The LSU Tigers keep climbing the ladder, and are now +250 to win the National Championship. A convincing win over Alabama and a tough schedule to this point has proven the Tigers, their one drawback will be defensively as they continue to allow a ton of points. With that being said, they also continue to outscore everyone. Being in the SEC means they will have at least one more tough game before the playoffs, which is likely why the odds aren’t higher.

Alabama without Tua

How the mighty have fallen. Alabama only has one loss (to LSU), but the hard part about the college football playoff is there are only four teams. Alabama is amongst the most talented teams in the country, but they need to make the playoff first. After the Tua Tagovailoa injury, Alabama has fallen (again) from +1200 to +2000 to win the National Championship.

It looks like Ohio State, Clemson, and LSU will all likely finish in the playoff…so there is one spot left for Alabama, Georgia, Penn State, and others.
