The legal sports betting market in Illinois continues to grow, and with the latest news of not one but two new sportsbooks to the state, it is growing rapidly. Thursday, August 20th brings Hollywood Aurora and Hollywood Joliet to the state as announced on their twitter accounts. But what was not expected is that both sportsbooks could be Barstool Sportsbook branded. Let’s take a deeper look at both sportsbooks launching in the suburbs of Chicago, which will greatly increase the amount of people that can bet in the state of Illinois.

Barstool Sportsbook Illinois to Launch?
Penn’s Hollywood Aurora is opening today at 10 AM. Get down there and place a bet. Sportsbook is open. pic.twitter.com/RalwTuk31T

Nothing is 100% confirmed, but it definitely seems like the Hollywood Aurora property in Illinois could be branded as Barstool Sportsbook. Based on a tweet from Barstool Bets (a Penn National Gaming company), pushing the Hollywood Aurora sportsbook at 10AM on launch day certainly could indicate. Of course, there is this as well.
Yes, PNG will use the brand for retail books and online/mobile. Greektown included.

With Greektown already being part of this brand as of March, it makes much easier to include Aurora and Joliet into the same market.
Hollywood Aurora Sportsbook Illinois
Place your bets. Our Sportbooks will open tomorrow at 11am! See you here!
— Hollywood Aurora (@HollywoodAurora) August 19, 2020
While not the most detailed tweet, Hollywood Aurora did announce an opening of August 20th at 11am. One thing to note is that Barstool Sports personalities blasted the announcements for Hollywood Aurora, as it looks to be more and more a Barstool-branded sportsbook when the time comes. Here are some examples:

The Hollywood Aurora Casino is located on the Fox River in Aurora, Illinois. It is west of Chicago and will be a very popular location for those that have to drive to sign up for Illinois sports betting. With the Barstool engine behind it, there is no doubt that Hollywood Aurora will take advantage of the Penn National Gaming and Barstool merger to position itself early in the market.
Hollywood Joliet Sportsbook Illinois
Starting tomorrow, our Sportsbook will be open! See you then!
— Hollywood Joliet (@HollywoodJoliet) August 19, 2020
Like Hollywood Aurora, Hollywood Joliet is open for business as of August 20th. Joliet is another location outside of Chicago, this time south of the city, that will allow for an easy drive to sign up for legal sports betting in Illinois. Remember, you can sign up from your car in order to play in Illinois. This is also expected to be a Barstool Sports location at some point, especially given that it was also tagged and retweeted by plenty of Barstool Sports personalities. It officially opened with this tweet:
The time has come, our Sportsbook is now open! Just in time for the NBA Draft tonight.
— Hollywood Joliet (@HollywoodJoliet) August 20, 2020
The Hollywood Joliet is located on the skirts of the Des Plaines River, just a short drive southwest from Chicago. Bettors from the city and the local suburbs will likely flock to the casinos in order to register as you must register online to take advantage of the Illinois sports betting rules and laws. With the state of Illinois adding Hollywood Joliet and Hollywood Aurora to the sports betting offerings in the state, there are now six sports books live in Illinois. These two join BetRivers Illinois, among others.
