The PGA Tour is linking up with BetMGM on a multi-year partnership and marketing deal. BetMGM is stepping up to the tee box in a big way and this partnership will only help to increase the sportsbook’s influence in golf. Golf is a major part of BetMGM’s operations and this new partnership will give the sportsbook rights to use official PGA Tour content and video to enhance the user experience for golf bettors.
“BetMGM is part of a premium brand that is deeply connected to golf through sponsorship of various PGA TOUR players and tournaments,” said Norb Gambuzza, PGA TOUR Senior Vice President, Media and Gaming. “Through the power of the BetMGM brand and resources, this new relationship will help accelerate our sports betting strategy, and enable the TOUR to reach new fans and further engage current fans who enjoy betting on golf.”
“We look forward to working with the PGA TOUR to integrate great experiences for BetMGM customers,” Matt Prevost, BetMGM Chief Marketing Officer said. “BetMGM’s advanced betting technology, combined with the PGA TOUR’s world-class competitions and iconic players, will not only advance the TOUR’s position at the forefront of professional sports, but the entire betting industry as well.”
PGA Tour Continues To Embrace Sports Betting
There is a concerted effort to embrace sports betting as legalization continues to spread across the country. In late July, the PGA Tour announced a similar partnership with DraftKings Sportsbook.
The cooperation between the PGA Tour and various sportsbooks is fabulous news for golf bettors. We can expect to see more golf promotions in the coming months as the PGA Tour ramps up after the coronavirus shutdown. A major is next on the schedule. The PGA Championship is this weekend and it signifies the first major championship of this bizarre season.
The PGA Championship kicks off a string of majors in the coming months. The U.S. Open is set to take place from Sept. 17-20 and the Masters Tournament, which was forced to postpone its original April date, will begin on Nov. 12. Unfortunately, the British Open was canceled entirely.
With so many huge events on the docket for 2020 and the PGA Tour’s recent sportsbook partnerships, there’s never been a better time to be a golf bettor. It’s also a great time to dip your toes into the waters of golf betting if you’ve never done so before.
