With legal sports betting launching in Illinois in early 2020, BetRivers Sportsbook at Rivers Casino in Des Plaines prepares to take bets right away.
Rivers Casino is Illinois top riverboat casino in terms of money, and with sports betting around the corner they look to increase their gaming reach.
What is left for them to do?
Really…nothing. As soon as Illinois sports betting is “official”, BetRivers Sportsbook will be too.
Rivers Casino Sportsbook Des Plaines
This space is a 4,800+ square-foot sportsbook with a wide set of viewing screens, tickers, betting odds, and more located around the sportsbook.
Rivers Casino is an interesting architectural marvel, as it sits on a massive six-inch pit of water that allows it to be a “riverboat” casino, which was required at the time of the construction for legal reasons. Times have certainly changed, and Rivers Casino was granted a land-based license in late 2019.
BetRivers and Rivers Casino are ready to take bets, whenever that may happen, as Rivers GM Corey Wise says:
“We’re ready to go once the state is ready to go.”
BetRivers Sportsbook Ready to Roll
As soon as the state of Illinois is ready, BetRivers Sportsbook will be in business.
Currently named “BetRivers SportsBar”, it will transition to BetRivers Sportsbook when the time comes. Rumors say potential bettors have already asked at the “SportsBar” when they can place bets inside the book.
The sportsbook features:
- 47-foot wide HD LED video wall
- Four 75-inch TVs
- Full Service Island Bar with 32 seats
- 26 Video Poker Games at Bar
- 32 Leather Lounge Chairs
- Table Seating
- Table games and slot machines next to SportsBar
Do not be fooled, this is just a measure taken before legal sports betting sites begins in Illinois, as BetRivers SportsBar will become BetRivers Sportsbook and begin taking sports bets as soon as possible.
