March Madness has been exactly what he hoped for, but it’s not over yet. Even though the calendar is turning to April, the NCAA Tournament still needs a champion. The Final Four features two incredible matchups between some of the biggest names in college basketball.
The first is an all-Texas matchup between No. 2 Houston and No. 1 Baylor. The Baylor Bears are a five-point favorite entering this game and the public is all over that spread. A whopping 89% of the money bet on the spread in this game is on Baylor. Houston is getting a slightly higher percentage of the total cash on the moneyline (22%), but the public still loves the Bears on that as well.

Final Four: Who is the public betting on?
Seeing the public flock to Baylor shouldn’t come as a huge shock to anyone. A five-point spread may be a bit high for a Final Four matchup, but it’s not anything crazy.
The same cannot be said for the Gonzaga-UCLA game. This matchup of west coast bluebloods is as strange as it gets from a historical perspective. Gonzaga is an undefeated No. 1 seed that looks unbeatable. Meanwhile, UCLA is the plucky underdog who continues to pull off upset after upset. The fact that Gonzaga has 0 National Championships compared to UCLA’s 11 is part of what makes this game truly bizzare.
Despite UCLA’s history and pedigree, there is an overwhelming amount of money down on Gonzaga here. The Bulldogs are massive 14-point favorites in this one. Even still, the public has 74% of bet tickets and 86% of the total handle on Gonzaga -14.
The moneyline is almost an even 50-50 split between Gonzaga and UCLA, but that’s remarkable in and of itself. The Bulldogs are -1250 on the moneyline, so anyone who wants to return any kind of profit would need to make a large bet. The fact that half of the money is on Gonzaga is telling.
