FoxSports’ Colin Cowherd has turned into quite the polarizing handicapper, for better or for worse. In what is called the “Blazing 5” segment on “The Herd”, Cowherd breaks down his favorite five games and makes five picks each week of the NFL season.
After starting out hot, Cowherd has been up and down. Some bad beats, some good wins, some bad picks, and more. Last week was not a good for the host of “The Herd”.
Entering Week 13, his record was 31-27-2.
Last week, Cowherd’s Blazing 5:
- Miami Dolphins +9.5 at home over Philadelphia Eagles – WIN
- Arizona Cardinals +3 at home over Los Angeles Rams – LOSS
- Oakland Raiders +9.5 on the road over Kansas City Chiefs – LOSS
- Baltimore Ravens -6 at home over San Francisco 49ers – LOSS
- Carolina Panthers -10 at home over the Washington Redskins – LOSS
Cowherd went 1-4 last week, and was way off on some. Cowherd loved the Raiders who were crushed by the Chiefs, and the Panthers who lost by eight to the Redskins. Cowherd’s only win was the Dolphins +9.5 against a struggling Eagles team, as the Dolphins won straight up and scored 37 points against Philadelphia.
There are bad weeks, but Cowherd’s Week 13 brought him just over .500 for the season.

NFL Week 14 Colin Cowherd Blazing 5 Picks
Cowherd’s Week 14 NFL picks are located below. His Blazing 5 Picks are released each week on Friday’s during his show.
- Baltimore Ravens -5.5 @ Buffalo Bills
- Cleveland Browns -7.5 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
- Denver Broncos +8.5 @ Houston Texans
- Kansas City Chiefs +3 @ New England Patriots
- Arizona Cardinals +2.5 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
In Week 14, Cowherd likes two favorites (Ravens and Browns) and three underdogs (Broncos, Chiefs, and Cardinals).
Of the five picks, Cowherd likes THREE road teams: Ravens, Browns, and Broncos. Cowherd only likes two home homes in the browns and Cardinals.
Cowherd’s analysis on Chiefs and Patriots is interesting, as he noted he thinks the Patriots can only win low-scoring games. Of course, the Chiefs are very good offensively.
The Blazin’ 5 has a winning record in nine of 13 weeks so far this season, but Cowherd is dangerously close to .500. He will need a positive week in Week 14 to main a positive season.
Cowherd Blazin’ 5 Pick by Pick Analysis
Baltimore Ravens -5.5 @ Buffalo Bills
Cowherd picks a huge win for the Ravens, as he mentioned 40-20 during his Blazin’ 5 segment. He thinks the Bills are not for real, and MVP candidate Lamar Jackson will continue to secure the award.
The Bills are one of the best teams in the NFL against the spread, so this is an interesting pick.
Cleveland Browns -7.5 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
“Don’t be fooled by last week, the Bengals offensive line is not good” and “Freddie Kitchens and the Browns coaching staff are coaching for their lives” are two quotes from Cowherd discussing why he likes the Browns in Week 14.
With Andy Dalton at the helm and John Ross back, the Bengals offense is a bit better than what may be expected. Either way, Cowherd crosses the seven and takes the Browns at -7.5
Denver Broncos +8.5 @ Houston Texans
Cowherd says the Texans are just an “average team with a [great] wide receiving corps”.
He likes the Broncos with 8.5 points and mentions that he likes Drew Lock to throw a bit against the Texans.
Cowherd believes the Texans have a bit of a hangover after beating the Patriots, and he takes the Broncos with the points.
Kansas City Chiefs +3 @ New England Patriots
As mentioned above, Cowherd does not like the Patriots in games where they have to score points. The Patriots offense has struggled this year, and in a game where they’ll need to outscore the Chiefs, Cowherd likes Andy Reid on the road in Foxboro at +3.
Arizona Cardinals +2.5 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Cowherd picks the Cardinals a lot. He mentions that he is not a fan of the Steelers traveling out west, especially with Mike Tomlin.
Given the Cardinals are home underdogs, Cowherd seems to like the Cardinals to play well at home and beat the surging Steelers in an upset.
