The NFL offseason of 2020 may be the largest selection of starting quarterbacks on the move. Tom Brady to the Bucs, Philip Rivers to the Colts, Teddy Bridgewater to the Panthers, likely two or three rookie quarterbacks will start, and we have not even began to discuss the 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton. The Carolina Panthers cut Newton, and he is free to sign with any team he chooses. The question is, where will he go? At DraftKings Sportsbook, you can bet on Cam Newton’s next team as there are a large selection of futures odds for each team. Let’s take a look at who Newton’s new team could be in 2020.
Cam Newton Free Agency Odds
|Cam Newton’s Potential Next Team||Odds of Signing|
|Los Angeles Chargers||+275|
|New England Patriots||+900|
|Las Vegas Raiders||+2500|
There is no runaway favorite for Newton’s next team, but the former Panthers quarterback is determined. Take a look at this tweet from Adam Schefter.
Cam Newton had a physical in Atlanta yesterday coordinated by the Panthers and his agency team, per sources. Newton passed the physical and is healthy, per source, with both his shoulder and foot “checking out well and he is hungrier than ever and eager for the next opportunity.”

Cam Newton the Next Chargers’ QB?
Watch the #Chargers tape. See what they do conceptually. The players they have. Picture a healthy Cam Newton doing what they already do, in addition to incorporating what he brings as a mobile threat (within reason). It seems to make a great deal of sense football-wise.

Could Cam Newton’s next team be our in LA with the Chargers? Louis Riddick of ESPN thinks it would be a great fit, and the Chargers’ current quarterback depth chart is Tyrod Taylor and Easton Stick. There are heavy rumors of the Chargers drafting a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft, but the Chargers have a roster that is talented enough to “win now”. Should the Chargers sign Newton for the short term and grow a young quarterback on the bench? Time will tell, but the odds for Cam Newton to head to LA is currently +275.

Could you imagine this? The photoshop certainly looks good, and the Patriots’ current starting quarterback is likely to be Jarrett Stidham. Will the Pats have any interest in Newton? The odds are +900 that Newton signs with the Patriots, but there really is no precedence to make an educated guess for Bill Belichick as he has had Tom Brady for the better part of the last two decades. The Patriots are certainly not a rebuilding team, given their current Super Bowl odds, but will Cam Newton help that offense go? Kurt Warner thinks so.

Cam Back to Florida?
The Jacksonville Jaguars have the highest current odds of signing Cam Newton at +250 on DraftKings Sportsbook, after the team traded Nick Foles and looks to give the reigns to Gardner Minshew for the time being. Cam Newton spent the early part of his collegiate career with the Florida Gators and grew up in College Park, GA. Could a homecoming be in the cards for Newton? Of all the teams remaining for playing time, the Jaguars certainly are close to the top of the list. The Jaguars may not have a ton of interest though, as they project to be a team that struggles in 2020 in hopes of landing Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft. Time will tell, but the Jaguars do not make much sense for a win-now move.
