The PGA Tour is back this week for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic shut down the sport. Although golf fans were treated to charity events like “The Match: Champions For Charity” and “TaylorMade Driving Relief,” the Charles Schwab Challenge will be the first PGA Tour event since the first round of THE PLAYERS Championship.
With a star-studded field that includes the likes of Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, and Rickie Fowler, there are plenty of options for bettors to choose from. Thus far, the betting splits seem to favor that group and a few other big names.

Where The Money Is Going
On DraftKings Sportsbook, bettors are going big on Koepka and Jordan Spieth, with each golfer garnering 7% of all money down on the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Koepka, 30, is coming into 2020 after dominating the PGA Tour over the last two years. He was named PGA America Player of the Year for the second time in a row and finished in the top-four in three major championships in 2019. The righty has won four majors over the last three years to boot. It’s quite clear why 7% of the money and 6% of all total bets are on Koepka.
Spieth, 27, is a much different story. After his meteoric rise to the top of the sport in 2015, he’s been on a steady decline. Aside from winning The Open Championship in 2017, Spieth has never been able to regain his mojo from 2015.
He finished 2018 and 2019 without a win and there is little indication that he is going to break that streak in 2020. Spieth still has significant name recognition, but there might be more to it than that. For whatever reason, bettors are quite confident that Spieth is going to break out of his slump this weekend.
Justin Rose (+5000) at 5% of the betting handle and 4% of total bets is another name to watch out for in the Charles Schwab Challenge. The first PGA Tour event since the shutdown in mid-March is packed with big names and it’s the first chance in a long time to place golf bets.

Kevin Na Seeing Strong Bet Volume at William Hill
The betting action at William Hill is very similar to DraftKings where we the big names on tour receiving a lot of attention from bettors. One name for sure that jumped out from the William Hill betting splits for the Charles Schwab Challenge is Kevin Na. Early betting at DraftKings found no trace of Kevin Na, but 6% of all money wagered thus far on the tournament at William Hill, has been placed on Kevin Na to win. Certainly, something to keep an eye on before the tourney tee’s off this week.
