Circa Sports First Offering Outside Las Vegas
Circa Sports is a Las Vegas-based sports betting company, and they are expanding to Colorado on May 1st (or whenever Colorado can take bets). This partnership allows them to become one of the three official licensees of Century Casinos. This will be the first time that Circa Sports will operate outside of Nevada, and CEO Derek Stevens is excited. He says this in the release:
“We are excited to be at the forefront of sports betting in Colorado with our partners at Century Casinos. Colorado has proven to be an ideal place to mark the official expansion of Circa Sports outside of Nevada with its pro-growth regulatory environment. Furthermore, the Colorado Division of Gaming has done an excellent job to ensure a seamless application and launch process”
Circa Sports started with “the D Las Vegas” and “Golden Gate”, who are both owned by Stevens in addition to a hotel-casino set to open in late 2020 called “Circa Resort and Casino”, which will also have a Circa Sportsbook. It looks like Circa Sports is here to stay, as they will continue to grow in Las Vegas and this expansion to Colorado is only good for the brand.
Century Casinos Adds to Portfolio
Century Casinos is a very large entertainment company that owns and operates casinos around the world. With three licenses in the state of Colorado, Century Casinos will be looking to find other partners to grow their brands and bring revenue to the company. The casino property in this partnership with Circa Sports is Century Casino Cripple Creek, which is west of Colorado Springs. Expect to see this name more often as the industry expands.
Details of the partnership were disclosed in the release. The agreement is a 15-year sportsbook operator partnership between Century Casinos and Circa Sports, and the terms include:
- Market Access Fee
- Share of Gaming Revenue
- Revenue Guarantee to Century
Expect Circa Sports to launch its mobile app on May 1st, 2020 along with the rest of the sportsbooks in Colorado. Both companies have already submitted applications to the State of Colorado for proper licenses, as they will be focused on launching right away.
When Can I Bet in Colorado?
Per legislation, Colorado is legally allowed to begin offering bets on May 1st, 2020. Expect there to be at least four sportsbooks that launch on May 1st, 2020 as long as that remains the target date for the state. In addition to Circa Sports, DraftKings, FanDuel, and PointsBet will make their products available in Colorado for mobile bettors.
