We witnessed another action-packed weekend of college football, full of numerous entertaining games that had us glued to our seats.

Star quarterback and potential 2021 No. 1 overall draft pick Trevor Lawrence returned to the spotlight for the Clemson Tigers, playing for the first time in over a month. In the midst of Clemson’s 52-17 win over Pitt, Lawrence threw for 403 yards and two touchdowns on 26-of-37 passing.

Alabama also took care of business, like many thought they would. In this year’s edition of the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn, the Crimson Tide ousted their rivals by a score of 42-13, and that was without head coach Nick Saban, who tested positive for COVID-19 and couldn’t be present.

Bama quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Mac Jones continued his stellar season, throwing for 302 yards and a whopping five touchdowns on 18-of-26 passing. Wide receiver Devonta Smith caught seven of those throws for 171 yards and two scores, while running back Najee Harris was additionally a focal point, rushing for 96 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries.

And with this great performance, Alabama sits atop the nation with the highest odds to win this year’s College Football Playoff national championship, per DraftKings Sportsbook.

Sure, they’re in the third spot, but you could still get a pretty good bang for your buck if you were to wager money on the Ohio State Buckeyes (+550 on DraftKings Sportsbook). Albeit a small sample size of games (four), they’re undefeated and are averaging 45.3 points per contest. There is a bit of concern regarding Ohio State’s defense though. Up to this point, the unit has allowed 26.0 points on average.

The Buckeyes’ most recent scheduled game (vs. Illinois for this past weekend) was canceled.

Notre Dame (+600) could also provide you with a great return on your investment. While the Fighting Irish possess the fourth-highest odds, they’re currently second on the AP Top-25 poll at 9-0. Clemson’s only loss came at the hands of the Irish back on Nov. 7 — Notre Dame emerged victorious in double overtime by a score of 47-40 (Clemson was without Lawrence due to a positive COVID-19 test).
