Clemson Football 2020 Outlook – 11.5 Wins Possible?
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney remains optimistic about the 2020 college football season happening as planned:https://t.co/kmbbWT07i7 pic.twitter.com/5dqntK0w1R

While Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is optimistic about there being a 2020 college football season despite the coronavirus pandemic, there is a number that bettors are worried about. Clemson has a massive 11.5 win total on DraftKings Sportsbook. Can they win 12 football games? Clemson’s opponents in 2020 are:
- Georgia Tech
- Louisville
- Akron
- Virginia
- Boston College
- Florida State
- NC State
- Syracuse
- Notre Dame
- The Citadel
- Wake Forest
- South Carolina
For the Clemson Tigers to hit the over 11.5, they would have to go undefeated. Looking at their schedule, that is very possible with the lone tough game being Notre Dame. Of course, South Carolina is a rivalry game and Florida State is a prestigious program but neither are close to the level of Clemson in terms of football prominence. With Trevor Lawrence, Justyn Ross and others returning and a terrific incoming class, Clemson is ready to roll in 2020.
Spencer Rattler and the Oklahoma Sooners Total Drops to 10
#Sooners redshirt frosh QB Spencer Rattler checks-in at No.17 on @Rivals list of 20 Most Important People in 2020. https://t.co/HwICrQ458p pic.twitter.com/4z6uGd9L2Y

After the Oklahoma Sooners’ win total opened at 10.5, bettors seemingly hammered the under as DraftKings Sportsbook dropped the win total from 10.5 to 10. Is this a lack of trust in young phenom Spencer Rattler, the new QB of the Sooners? Time will tell if Lincoln Riley can continue to get Heisman Trophy production from his quarterback, but if you liked the over on the Sooners at 10.5, you have better value now at 10.
Clemson Football Looks to Dominate (Again) in 2020
Clemson’s win total currently sits at 11.5, which is the highest in the country. There are a few reasons for this including a traditionally weaker schedule than some SEC counterparts due to the demise of some top ACC programs, but Clemson is loaded this season. While other teams have lost top talent to the NFL Draft, Clemson retains their top players in Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Justyn Ross, and more. With terrific recruiting classes in recent years, this could be one of the better teams we have seen in years, hence the very high total of 11.5. Clemson’s out of conference schedule this year has just one “tough” opponent in Notre Dame. The rest of the schedule should result in a win, hence the 11.5 number and them as favorites to win the national championship.

Can Justin Fields Lead the Buckeyes to the Title?
The Buckeyes lost a terrific football player on defense, with Chase Young heading to the NFL Draft, but they return Heisman-hopeful quarterback Justin Fields and an elite set of weapons on both sides of the football. Only Clemson has a higher win total for the 2020 season, and Ohio State’s schedule presents plenty of wins for them as the out of conference games are against Oregon, Bowling Green, and the Buffalo Bulls. Ohio State is home against Michigan and Iowa this year, so they should have a relatively easy time with the B1G en route to at least 11 wins and a likely college football playoff berth.
Clean pocket passing grade:
1. Joe Burrow, LSU – 94.9
2. Justin Fields, OSU – 94.1
3. Micale Cunningham, UL – 93.0 pic.twitter.com/P0KwTgXj8t— PFF College (@PFF_College) March 26, 2020
Without Tua, Will Alabama Continue to Roll?
Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be selected in the NFL Draft in late April, which means there is a new quarterback under center for the Crimson Tide. Will it be Mac Jones? Either way, the Crimson Tide has a very talented roster including some very good returning wide receivers in Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith. Alabama has the third-highest win total on DraftKings Sportsbook, but a schedule against USC, UGA, LSU, TAMU, and Auburn. Is over 10.5 attainable? Time will tell, but Nick Saban will have the Crimson Tide ready to go regardless of who is at quarterback.
Passer rating when targeted among all 2019 WRs:
1. Jaylen Waddle – 158.3
2. Henry Ruggs III – 154.4
3. DeVonta Smith – 152.5 pic.twitter.com/nN5Ot2EV3w— PFF College (@PFF_College) March 12, 2020
Can Eddie O Do It Again for Reigning Champion LSU?
The LSU Tigers will be a completely different program in 2020, as they have lost 14 starters and a few coaches. With Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow set to be drafted first overall in the NFL Draft, offensive genius Joe Brady headed to the Carolina Panthers, and over a dozen other starters heading to the NFL or other endeavors, there is a lot of room for downside for LSU. Now, the Tigers were not expected to make a run like they did last year yet absolutely dominated all year and in the national title game. LSU’s win total currently sits at nine, and they have matchups against Texas, at Florida, at Auburn, at TAMU, and they get Alabama at home. Under 9 may be a valuable bet, but time will tell if LSU can retool and repeat as a title contender.
