The 2020 Super Bowl will be the first that bettors in Indiana will be able to wager on (legally, at least) in the state’s history. With the Super Bowl comes a major market for bettors, and it is not just limited to spreads, totals, and money-lines. The market for prop betting during the Super Bowl is massive, but in many states (Indiana included) there are some regulations that may prevent certain props.
With that being said, states can approve certain props for certain events. The Super Bowl is definitely one of those events, and the Indiana Gaming Commission has approved quite a few props to be offered in the state for the Super Bowl.
What Color is the Gatorade Shower?
With legal sports betting passed in Indiana, all eyes will be on the betting markets in the Super Bowl. Props have always included player props, who scores first, the halftime score and others. The fun props however, are usually specific to big events. One topic of discussion each year is simple: “What color will the Gatorade shower be?“. Thanks to the IGC, reported by a tweet from David Purdum from ESPN Chalk, bettors in Indiana can now bet on this prop and others.
The Indiana Gaming Commission today announced that the state's sportsbooks will be allowed to take bets on the color of the Gatorade dumped on the winning coach of the Super Bowl.

The popular Gatorade flavors are Fruit Punch (red), Pineapple Mango (yellow), and orange but others such as Glacier Freeze (blue), Green Apple (green), and even (Grape) purple could show up at the end of the Super Bowl. Which one will you be betting on?
Approved Super Bowl Props
Other approved props that sportsbooks in Indiana can offer, per Purdum’s tweet are:
- Coin Toss Outcome
- Will there be a flea flicker?
- Who will the Super Bowl MVP thank first?
- Will “Player X” retire after the game?
- Which player calls the coin toss correctly?
- Team to win the coin toss AND game bet
Each of these props will be quite attractive leading to game time. If the Kansas Chiefs reach the playoffs, it may be more likely to see a flea flicker than if the Super Bowl includes the Titans. The “will player X retire” props are also interesting, as the four championship teams are the 49ers, Packers, Titans, and Chiefs. There are quite a few veterans on each of these four teams, so be sure to keep an eye out for those props.
Other popular props for large events have included how long the national anthem will be, first commercial before kickoff, first after kickoff and plenty of others. Indiana bettors will be able to wager on plenty of events for the upcoming Super Bowl, in a great move by the Indiana Gaming Commission.
