Let’s take a look at the latest William Hill Heisman odds and some of the possible candidates to win the award.
2020 Heisman Trophy Odds
|Player||Odds to win Heisman Trophy|
Of the top 15 players listed on William Hill’s Heisman Trophy odds, 13 are quarterbacks. The lone running backs are Chuba Hubbard and Travis Etienne. Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence lead the way, as they were amongst the favorites last season. Both players are likely to enter the NFL Draft after this season, expect both to remain near the top of the Heisman Trophy list all season long.
Justin Fields Leads the Way
At +350, Justin Fields tops the charts as he returns as the Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback in 2020. These are better odds for bettors compared to DraftKings Sportsbook, who has Fields at +300 to win the Heisman Trophy. Fields finished last season with nearly 3300 passing yards, 484 rushing yards, and 51 total touchdowns. That is a Heisman-winning season, but Joe Burrow posted video game numbers for LSU all season, leaving Fields to finish behind him and Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts in the voting.
With Burrow and Hurts graduating and on their way to the NFL, this is a competition between Fields and Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence for the Heisman Trophy. Lawrence finished last season with over 4100 total yards and 45 total touchdowns.
Spencer Rattler Making Heisman Noise
The young Spencer Rattler is very high on William Hill’s odds list, coming in at +1200 odds and fourth behind Fields, Lawrence, and expected Georgia quarterback Jamie Newman. Rattler is Oklahoma’s next Heisman hopeful, and head coach Lincoln Riley will look to use the electrifying quarterback in similar ways as Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Jalen Hurts before him. Nearly any quarterback in the Sooners’ system will be given high odds for the Heisman Trophy, as they have had three straight finalists.
But with respect to other candidates, Rattler is a five-star prospect and is likely a top-tier NFL prospect assuming his college career plays out as expected. Rattler is a redshirt freshman, and was the top-ranked quarterback prospect in his graduating class. He is the real deal, so expect to see his odds fluctuate as the season approaches.
How Can I Bet on the Heisman Trophy Winner?
