The AFC has belonged to the Kansas City Chiefs over the last two seasons. They have two AFC championships and one Super Bowl win under their belt during that time. Once again, the Chiefs are favored to win the AFC, but there are plenty of contenders out there who are trying to make some noise.

The Chiefs are the darling of the public on DraftKings Sportsbook, accounting for 42% of all bet tickets and 26% of the money to win the AFC. No other team is bringing in half the money that’s on Kansas City.

Let’s take a deep dive into the betting odds and handle for the AFC Championship on DraftKings Sportsbook

Of course, the numbers show the public faith in the Chiefs, but there are a few other teams with considerable money coming in. The Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns are third and fourth, respectively, in terms of the betting handle.

The Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, and Tennessee Titans are seeing a significant portion of the action as well. There is plenty of interest in these middle-of-the-pack teams among bettors on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Can the Chiefs Go Back-to-Back-to-Back?

All eyes are on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs again. They have gone to the last two Super Bowls, winning one of those, and they lost in the AFC Championship Game three years ago.

Since Mahomes took over as the full-time starter in Kansas City, the Chiefs have been a safe bet to go to the AFC Championship if nothing else. With only some minor tweaks to the roster this offseason, we expect Kansas City to be in the mix once again.

With that said, +250 odds on any team to make the Super Bowl is a tough bet to make. One injury could change everything and even if the Chiefs stay relatively healthy, the rest of the AFC is improving. It’s only going to get tougher for Kansas City from here on out.

AFC East Love

The AFC East is the only division where all four teams are in the top 10 for betting handle here. The Patriots, Bills, Jets, and Dolphins all find themselves on this list.

The Bills are legitimate Super Bowl contenders this season while the Patriots and Dolphins are pegged to potential playoff squads. All three of these teams are expected to improve in 2021.

Buffalo is hoping for another MVP-like season from Josh Allen. Meanwhile, New England and Miami will both have more stability at quarterback after missing the playoffs last season.

The Jets are absolute longshots to make the Super Bowl but don’t tell that to the 1% of bettors who are picking the Jets to win the AFC. Although that’s a relatively small percentage of bets, those tickets account for 5% of the total handle. A very small percentage of bettors are making a lot of noise. That sounds like Jets fans.
