This year’s race for the Heisman Trophy is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. With the shortened season and games cancelled left and right, frontrunners are fading simply because they can’t get on the field. Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask is taking advantage of his opportunity as he takes a commanding lead in the Heisman Trophy race.
Trask put together another dominant performance against Vanderbilt over the weekend. He threw for three touchdowns and just under 400 yards. The Florida quarterback is up to 31 touchdowns in just seven games. Not to mention, he’s only thrown three interceptions so far this year. At -140 odds, Trask is now the odds-on favorite.

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones is still within striking distance, but he’ll have to pick his game up if he wants to keep Pace with Trask. The Crimson Tide put a beating on Kentucky on Saturday, but Jones only threw for 230 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Justin Fields also saw a slight drop after his worst game of the season. The Ohio State quarterback threw for three interceptions after three games without a turnover. With Ohio State only playing a handful of games this year, it could be tough for Fields to bounce back from this clunker.
And of course, we cannot forget about Trevor Lawrence. The presumptive No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft, Lawrence was once the heavy favorite to win the Heisman. Unfortunately, COVID-19 issues for Clemson have kept Lawrence out of action for the last month. His last appearance in a game was on Oct. 24 against Syracuse. This absence is resulting in a major fall for Lawrence. He currently sits at +1600 odds to win.
