Ahead of Week 6 of the 2020 college football season, Florida quarterback Kyle Trask has emerged as one of the top favorites to bring home this year’s Heisman Trophy. He and Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence are tied with the highest odds at +400. Miami quarterback D’Eriq King and Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields are tied for the second-highest current odds at +600.
This comes after Trask put up 268 yards and four scores through the air in the Gators’ recent win over South Carolina. Trask now has 684 passing yards on the year and leads the country with 10 touchdown passes ahead of Florida’s crucial matchup with Texas A&M this Saturday.
Nonetheless, Trask will still have a tough competitor in Fields, who won’t be playing until the end of the month due to the Big Ten’s coronavirus-related season delay. Lawrence will also always be in the mix as well. This past weekend, the potential future No. 1 overall draft pick threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns in a big win over Virginia. Lawrence and the Tigers take on King and the Hurricanes this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Every week is crucial, and it’ll be interesting to see how these odds shake up after this weekend’s slate of games
