What To Watch For In The Stanley Cup Playoffs

The 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs are going to be different than anything we’ve ever seen. Aside from the fact that it’s taking place in August and September, for the first time in history, the NHL had to include a Round Robin and Qualifying Round. This means that we have no idea how teams might react at the start of these upcoming seven-game series.

Take a team like the streaking Carolina Hurricanes for example. The Hurricanes swept the New York Rangers in three games and last played on Wednesday night. They should come into Game 1 against the Boston Bruins with fresh legs and momentum. On the other hand, the Bruins went 0-3 in the Round Robin and last played on Sunday.

Let’s remember that the Bruins are one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup this year, but they sure haven’t looked the part. Will the Round Robin and Qualifying Round be a sign of things to come or something that we can disregard now that the Stanley Cup Playoffs are officially here?

This is the big question that bettors have to grapple with before placing their future bets.
