For all Michigan bettors, this shows optimism that we may see online sports betting in the state in 2020, while 2021 is more than likely. While legal sportsbooks in the state were set to offer wagers at brick-and-mortar casinos first, of course none of that is happening in the near future with coronavirus.
Which Sportsbook Apps Will Be in Michigan?
Bettors in Michigan can expect a wide variety of online sports betting operators to enter the state with a large population of sports fans and bettors. We can expect the following sportsbooks to potentially be a part of the Michigan online sportsbook offerings in 2020 or 2021.
- DraftKings Sportsbook
- FanDuel Sportsbook
- Barstool Sportsbook
- PointsBet Sportsbook
- FOXBet Sportsbook
- BetMGM Sportsbook
- William Hill Sportsbook
When Can I Bet on Sports Online in Michigan?
In January 2020, the Michigan Gaming Control Board expressed that they believed it would take about a year to fully regulate and enact legal sports betting in the state. 2021 seems like the most realistic timeline, but with the chances of sports having a huge boom in fall 2020 that would be the ideal launch for Michigan to add some much needed revenue. The three main casinos in Detroit are expected to offer sports betting at their retail locations first, but with COVID-19 changing how casinos have operated, could we see online sports betting first in Michigan?
