MLB betting season is almost here and odds are out for Opening Day. Everyone starts out the year in first place, but we have a long 162-game season ahead of us.
The usual suspects like the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Rays, and St. Louis Cardinals are all favorites entering their games. Teams with strong starting pitching are always going to open up as favorites on Opening Day.

However, two teams from the National League West — the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres — are the biggest favorites of Opening Day. This shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the fact that both are among the favorites to win the World Series this year. The Dodgers are the defending champions. Meanwhile, the Padres are putting a ton of resources into this team in hopes of catching their division rivals.
It might not matter who the Dodgers start on Opening Day against the tanking Colorado Rockies. Los Angeles will go with Clayton Kershaw, but Trevor Bauer or Walker Buehler would have also made sense.
As for the Padres, they are going with newly-acquired Yu Darvish for Opening Day. The former Cub will face off against the Arizona Diamondbacks at home in his first start for San Diego.
