With the announcement of Major League Baseball set to play a full 162-game schedule, the baseball futures market became normal once again. Last year, there was less than half the normal amount of games and win totals, individual awards, and even the World Series odds were all in an unprecedented time. In 2021, that all changes back to normal as it looks like baseball will be a full go to play a season in its entirety. With that in mind, DraftKings Sportsbook and other legal sportsbooks have posted their win totals for the upcoming season. You can bet on each and every team either over or under a certain total of wins, set by the sportsbook.
To no one’s surprise, the Los Angeles Dodgers lead the way, but just how high is their number? Let’s take a look at the Dodgers’ win total, the Yankees, and all 30 teams in the MLB.

MLB Win Totals 2021
With DraftKings Sportsbook releasing win totals for the upcoming 2021 season, it is a true sign of baseball being just around the corner. Let’s take a look at the initial market for each team’s win total, as MLB expects to play a full 162-game schedule.
Team | DraftKings |
LA Dodgers | 102.5 |
NY Yankees | 95.5 |
SD Padres | 94.5 |
CHW White Sox | 91.5 |
ATL Braves | 91.5 |
NY Mets | 90.5 |
MIN Twins | 88.5 |
HOU Astros | 87.5 |
OAK Athletics | 86.5 |
STL Cardinals | 86.5 |
TOR Blue Jays | 86.5 |
TB Rays | 85.5 |
WAS Nationals | 84.5 |
LA Angels | 83.5 |
CIN Reds | 82.5 |
MIL Brewers | 82.5 |
CLE Indians | 81.5 |
BOS Red Sox | 80.5 |
PHI Phillies | 80.5 |
CHC Cubs | 78.5 |
SF Giants | 75.5 |
ARI Diamondbacks | 74.5 |
KC Royals | 73.5 |
SEA Mariners | 72.5 |
MIA Marlins | 71.5 |
DET Tigers | 68.5 |
TEX Rangers | 66.5 |
BAL Orioles | 64.5 |
COL Rockies | 63.5 |
PIT Pirates | 58.5 |
As you can see, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a massive number for their win total, at 102.5 wins, up from the opening 101.5. That is one of the highest totals we’ve ever seen, but that makes a lot of sense as the reigning World Series champions who added last year’s Cy Young winner in Trevor Bauer. After the Dodgers are a few of the top contenders in the MLB with the Yankees, Padres, White Sox, Braves, and Mets rounding out the six teams with a win total of 90 or above.
At the bottom of the table, the Pittsburgh Pirates have a total of 59.5 wins, which means they are projected here to lose more games than the Dodgers are projected to win.

Houston Astros Win Total Rises to 87.5
The Astros have been one of baseball’s more prominent teams in recent years, but lost some talent to free agency in the last two seasons. That led to their win total opening at 86.5, but that has since rose to 87.5, which is among the best in the American League. Will the Astros be able to win more than that and make the AL playoffs? Time will tell, but the offense will have a burst of youth that will look to take over for the loss of George Springer. The pitching staff will be full of talent, as Lance McCullers returns to the rotation.

Dodgers Win Total Rises to 102.5 After Initial Betting
The Los Angeles Dodgers win total opened at 101.5, a crazy number in itself.
It has risen to 102.5 at @DKSportsbook.https://t.co/5tB8PxkV7P

101.5 was not crazy enough, apparently. The Dodgers’ win total at DraftKings Sportsbook rose to a whopping 102.5 wins, putting the total at a ridiculously high number. Does that mean bet the under? Well, no…the Dodgers are that good.
With the addition of Trevor Bauer to an already incredibly starting rotation, the Dodgers’ pitchers will be the best in baseball on paper. Add in a top-tier offense loaded from top to bottom, and the Dodgers may be unstoppable in 2021. Can they win more than 102.5 games?
Los Angeles Dodgers Win Total Opens at 101.5
When a team wins the World Series and does not lose significant pieces, of course they are likely to have the highest win total. When that team does not lose any significant pieces and adds a Cy Young winner to the rotation, then it gets out of hand. That is exactly what has happened for the Dodgers’ win total, as it opens at a massive 101.5 wins. That number is six higher than the next closest team, as the Yankees’ number is 95.5 wins.
There is no doubt that the Dodgers are World Series favorites, but are we looking at one of the better teams in MLB history? Time will tell.
