The 2021 MLB season is here, which means that betting on baseball is back. We do not have to wager only on games that happen in-season though, as the futures markets are some of the more popular ones in all of sports, not just baseball. One future that will be a close race in 2021 is the National League’s MVP award, which is awarded to the best player in the NL. Mookie Betts and Juan Soto opened as co-favorites, but will they maintain the top spot in the leaderboard throughout the season? Time will tell.
Let’s take a look at the NL MVP odds, the best prices, and which players to wager on.

Opening Odds to Win 2021 NL MVP
One of the closer battles for individual awards each and every year is the MVP. For the 2021 season, the NL MVP is certainly no different. Here’s a look a the opening odds to win the NL MVP, courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
|Player||Odds to Win NL MVP|
|Fernando Tatis Jr.||+850|
For the opening odds, the two leaders at the top are Mookie Betts and Juan Soto, both at +750. While they are the favorites and certainly perennial candidates, the National League is filled with talent. Cody Bellinger, Ronald Acuna, and Fernando Tatis Jr. all make for some serious contenders for the MVP award. All five of those candidates are +850 or better, and we can fully expect all of them to be close at the end of the season.
