The first night of games includes some of the biggest names in basketball. Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans will open up the restart against Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, and the Utah Jazz. Although the Pelicans are on the outside of the playoff picture right now, they were heating up right before Gobert’s positive coronavirus diagnosis forced the league-wide shutdown.
Following Zion, a battle for Los Angeles will take place in Orlando. The Clippers and Lakers will square off. After falling in two of their first three matchups, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and company will look to even up the season series. This game will definitely have the feel of a Western Conference Finals preview.

The first Saturday of the NBA’s restart is going to be fast and furious. The seven and eight seeds in the Eastern Conference—the Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic—will battle it out in an afternoon tilt. Both sides are trying to avoid a first-round matchup against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Speaking of Giannis and the Bucks, they’ll take on the Boston Celtics in their restart debut. Opening at 5.5-point favorites, Milwaukee is the heaviest favorite in this first wave of regular-season games. For the most part, it looks like oddsmakers are expecting tight contests early on as teams try to regain their rhythm.
