After officially hearing about the PGA Tour’s new schedule and the NHL plans to resume their season, the NBA is taking steps that may help facilitate a return in 2020.
Beginning on May 1, the NBA is allowing teams to open their practice facilities to players in cities and states where local governments have eased stay-at-home orders, sources tell ESPN.

ESPN’s NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the league will allow teams to open their practice facilities in areas that have eased stay-at-home orders. He also reports that even while practice facilities may re-open, a timeline to finishing the regular season or beginning postseason play is still unclear.
NBA's decision on opening practice facilities to players in markets where governments may be loosening stay-at-home orders doesn't mean a resumption of season is imminent. The NBA is still unsure on if/when it can play again. But getting players safely into gyms was a priority.
