The NBA is coming back in late July and the league is moving forward with an unprecedented format. With 22 teams heading down to Orlando for 16 playoff spots, each team will play in eight seeding games. Futures bets on total team wins is nothing new to NBA betting, but choosing over/under wins on an eight-game schedule is something brand new.

DraftKings Sportsbook has the odds for bettors who want in on the eight-game seeding schedule.

My Picks:

Right off the jump, the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs are intriguing options. With the over/under set at 2.5, each team can finish with a losing record in the bubble and still hit the over. They play one another in their first game in Orlando.

The Suns have winnable games against the Spurs, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets, and twice against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Spurs, on the other hand, can steal wins against the Grizzlies, Suns, and Pelicans. San Antonio’s other five games are against teams that are already firmly in a playoff spot with championship aspirations.

It’s worth noting that the Nets aren’t even listed. Thus far, two Nets have pulled out of the bubble for coronavirus-related reasons. Additionally, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are waiting until the 2020-21 season to come back from their respective injuries.
