March Madness is one of the best times of the year for college basketball bettors due to the sheer number of ways to bet on the NCAA Tournament. Filling out a bracket, placing a championship future, or picking individual games are some of the most popular ways to bet on March Madness, but we also love betting on Sweet 16 futures.

Aside from the teams battling out in the First Four, it only takes two wins to advance to the Sweet 16. In effect, the NCAA Tournament is broken down into small, four-team tournaments. The First and Second round lead directly into the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight with the Final Four and Championship Game as the main course.

Let’s focus on the Sweet 16 for a moment. There are a few teams near the top who are favored to advance to the Sweet 16, but Gonzaga is the one overwhelming favorite to make it that far at -1500. It’s highly unlikely that they lose to Norfolk State or Appalachian State in the First Round. However, any bettors who believe Missouri or Oklahoma can knock off Gonzaga can snag +790 odds on the Zags to miss the Sweet 16.

Advance To The Sweet 16 Odds

If you are looking for better value on teams to make it to the Sweet 16, look no further than Oklahoma State and West Virginia. Oklahoma State is sitting at +134 odds even as they start to find their rhythm. Cade Cunningham is likely going to be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft and he might have some magic for us in March Madness before he makes the leap to the pros.

Meanwhile, the West Virginia Mountaineers are at +118. They need to beat upstart Morehead State in the First Round before meeting the winner of San Diego State and Syracuse. Bob Huggins has led the Mountaineers to five Sweet 16 appearances in his 15 years as head coach. Moreover, West Virginia has made the Sweet 16 in three of the last five NCAA Tournaments.
