There is nothing like odds movement in the NFL. As there were just 16 games (now 17!), there is a very limited number of total games to bet on and they are all normally a week apart. This leaves room for bettors to wager early and often, which undoubtedly will shift the prices on a week-to-week basis. For Week 1, the odds are released early in the summer which gives bettors a chance to pounce on some of the values presented by miss-priced lines. In addition, any injuries sustained in training camp will certainly alter the betting odds for Week 1. Staying up-to-date on the latest odds will give bettors a chance to find value quickly.

With the initial betting period taking place for NFL bettors, news from NFL training camp, and some injuries taking place, it has changed the landscape of Week 1 as far as odds are concerned. Let’s take a look at the Week 1 NFL odds movement, and stay up to date on the latest Week 1 spreads.

Chicago Bears at LA Rams LAR (-6) LAR (-7)

Aside from the Colts and Seahawks, the rest of the games have very little odds movement of just a point or less. One of the notable movement includes a few teams worth discussing, as news or public betting may have moved the line.

Packers vs. Saints Odds Movement

The Packers were one-point favorites over the Saints in Week 1, but many believe they moved to two-point favorites after the Aaron Rodgers news. This is odd timing, but likely the case…but with that in mind you would expect more than a one-point move for one of the best QBs in football, right?

Speculation could show that these odds moved after the Saints’ Michael Thomas injury, or the Saints splitting reps between Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston in camp.

Colts QB Shuffle Shifts Odds

It has been an injury-laded start to training camp for the Indianapolis Colts, which has clearly shifted the odds for their Week 1 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The odds opened in Indianapolis’ favor as the Colts were 1.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook. Now, the Seahawks are 2.5-point favorites as there has been a four-point swing in the spread. That is quite significant.

With the Colts moving from Carson Wentz to likely Jacob Eason as the starter, also while losing All Pro guard Quenton Nelson to the same injury, the Colts will certainly be on the mend to start the 2021-2022 NFL season. Expect the odds to continue to move in the Seahawks’ favor, as they are a team that has a solid roster and certainly will be heavily favored over a rookie quarterback in Week 1, assuming Eason starts.
