With the release of the 2020 NFL Schedule, legal online sportsbooks across the country have released their initial NFL Week 1 odds. Given that there are no sports at the time of NFL schedule release, these Week 1 odds are a very attractive commodity as it gives a sense of normalcy with the NFL set to return as normal barring unforeseen circumstances. Let’s take a look at the Week 1 NFL odds, a breakdown of each game, early Week 1 picks and more.

DraftKings Sportsbook has posted the NFL Week 1 Odds, for every single game. Let’s take a look at the odds and who could come out victorious in Week 1.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints Week 1 Odds
Tom Brady’s Bucs are scheduled to face the Saints in Week 1.https://t.co/2iPTlAyAb5
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) May 8, 2020
Opening Line: New Orleans Saints (-4)
In what looks to be the certain “game of the week” for Week 1, the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers face off in what is certain to be an epic battle for the NFC South. With Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski teaming up in Tampa Bay with a young defense and good offensive cast, they will look to be the new kid on the block. With all the luster surrounding the Bucs this offseason, some may have forgotten about the well-oiled machine that is the New Orleans Saints. The Saints open up at -4 in Week 1.
Miami Dolphins vs New England Patriots Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: New England Patriots (-7.5)
The new-look Patriots will open a new era without Tom Brady against Tua Tagovailoa (or Ryan Fitzpatrick) and the Miami Dolphins. This will be the beginning of a new era in the AFC East, but will it include the Patriots? -7.5 seems to think so as the Pats are still favored by more than a touchdown at opening odds.
Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Minnesota Vikings (-3.5)
The Green Bay Packers could catch a break here as they travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings, but Week 1 is the most likely game to be without fans. If fans do fill the seats, it will be one for the ages as the rivalry continues between two division foes. Is this the year for the Vikings? They start off as 3.5-point favorites.
New York Giants vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Week 1 Odds
Steelers already -3 on the road week one at the Giants.
— Kraig Riley (@KraigRiley) May 8, 2020
Opening Line: Pittsburgh Steelers (-3)
Ben Roethlisberger is finally set to start again for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they open up as three-point favorites against the young and hungry New York Giants. The Steelers did not have a first-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft as they traded it for Minkah Fitzpatrick, and they will look to start the 2020 season right as underdogs to win the AFC North.
New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Buffalo Bills (-6.5)
The Bills open up as nearly touchdown favorites over the division-rival New York Jets in Week 1. This is a battle of two young quarterbacks in Sam Darnold and Josh Allen, and if the Bills truly want to be a contender and build on last season’s success, they will need to see strides from their quarterback. After trading for Stefon Diggs, all the pressure is on the Bills’ offense in 2020. It starts against the Jets and their rebuild.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins Week 1 Odds
You know the saying…
Early 🦅 catches the worm.
The schedule has 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 been released, and we've got a Week 1 boost for you…three free points on the spread! 🚀 pic.twitter.com/b33SrNJefE
— FOX Bet (@FOXBet) May 8, 2020
Opening Line: Philadelphia Eagles (-5)
This is a huge year for Carson Wentz, as the Eagles spend a second-round pick on Jalen Hurts. Wentz and the Eagles start Week 1 off with a bang against a very formidable Washington Redskins’ front four with Chase Young added to the mix. The Redskins have a new coach in Ron Rivera, and this could be the battle of two of the best defensive lines in the NFL. Who will win the offensive battle? Likely the winner of this football game. The Eagles are five-point favorites.
Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Detroit Lions (-1)
This is not a top-tier matchup, as two of the teams expected to be at the bottom of the NFC in 2020 face off in Week 1. The Detroit Lions are rebuilding (we think), but this is a big year for Coach Patricia and QB Matt Stafford. If they do not perform well starting in Week 1 against Nick Foles and the Chicago Bears, it could be the beginning of a long season. The Bears will need to make strides after trading for Foles despite having Mitch Trubisky. The Lions are barely favored in Week 1 (-1).
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Houston Texans Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Kansas City Chiefs (-9.5)
The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will open the 2020 NFL season against the Houston Texans. With a massive opening line of 9.5 points, DraftKings Sportsbook is certainly expecting quite the blowout on Thursday Night Football. The Texans traded DeAndre Hopkins and added David Johnson. No one believes Bill O’Brien knows what he is doing in Houston, but he gets a chance to prove the naysayers wrong right away in Week 1. The Chiefs have the highest win total on the board at DraftKings Sportsbook, and they look to add one to the win column right away.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5)
What may be the battle of two rookie quarterbacks in Week 1 between Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert could be somewhat of a “changing of the guard” at the quarterback position. The Chargers may give the nod to Tyrod Taylor, but either way this game will be two young teams looking to find their identities early in the 2020 NFL season. Does A.J. Green have anything in the tank? Will the Chargers succeed without Philip Rivers? The beginning of the answers to these questions will be answered in Week 1, as the Chargers are favored.
Carolina Panthers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Las Vegas Raiders (-1)
Las Vegas football, baby! The Oakland Raiders have moved to Las Vegas, and the first NFL game in the history of the Las Vegas NFL franchise will be against two former college coaches that have joined forces to create a promising future in Carolina. Former Baylor coach Matt Rhule is now the head coach of the Panthers and he hired former LSU offensive genius Joe Brady to be the offensive coordinator. Right away, Rhule and Brady brought in Teddy Bridgewater to lead the Panthers into the future. In Week 1, it is Bridgewater against Carr. The Raiders will look to take a winning record into their home debut in Vegas for Week 2.
Tennessee Titans vs. Denver Broncos Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Denver Broncos (-1.5)
One team to watch in 2020 will be the Tennessee Titans after a terrific run in 2019 behind head coach Mike Vrabel, the resurgence of QB Ryan Tannehill, and a certain superstar running back in Derrick Henry in the backfield. The Titans start their 2020 campaign against the Denver Broncos, who look to show off a new and exciting offense with Drew Lock at the helm. The Broncos added Melvin Gordon and Jerry Jeudy this offseason, so it is no secret they expect to score points in 2020. That starts in Week 1, as the Broncos and Titans clash.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns Week 1 Odds
Browns vs Ravens week 1. Big time
— Doug Gottlieb (@GottliebShow) May 8, 2020
Opening Line: Baltimore Ravens (-7.5)
The most exciting football player in the NFL could be last year’s MVP in Lamar Jackson. While Jackson certainly will be a candidate for another MVP in 2020, the Ravens want the next step…which is a Super Bowl ring. The Ravens start off the 2020 season against a very talented Cleveland Browns team that vastly underachieved in 2019. With new coaching, will the Browns live up to the hype? It is a tough draw in Week 1, as the Ravens are one of the top franchises in the NFL after another terrific offseason.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Indianapolis Colts (-6.5)
Philip Rivers starts his career with the Indianapolis Colts against a team that is surely expected to “Tank for Trevor” in the Jacksonville Jaguars. The good thing about Jacksonville is that NFL fans get to enjoy Gardner Minshew for at least one more year, as the young QB gets another chance to shine. The Colts are a very good football team backed by head coach Frank Reich, a veteran QB, and one of the better offensive lines in the NFL. Expect the Colts to win easily in Week 1, as the Jaguars search for an identity.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Rams Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Dallas Cowboys (-2.5)
The first Sunday Night Football game of the season will be “America’s Team” in the Dallas Cowboys against Sean McVay and the LA Rams. After a tremendous offseason, the Cowboys look to show off a terrific offense with Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and Ezekiel Elliott. With Dak Prescott (assumedly) at the helm, the Cowboys should score a ton of points in 2020. That starts in Week 1 against the Rams.
Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: San Francisco 49ers (-8.5)
Two of the most popular head coaches in the NFL are Kyle Shanahan and Kliff Kingsbury, and they both go against each other in Week 1. The Cardinals will look to grow with promising young quarterback Kyler Murray as they added a top-tier weapon in DeAndre Hopkins. Will it be enough to defeat the talent-heavy 49ers? Expect a dose of the running game in this one, as the Niners will look to start their 2020 quest for a Super Bowl berth.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Seattle Seahawks Week 1 Odds
Opening Line: Seattle Seahawks (-1)
The battle of the birds will happen right away in 2020, as the Atlanta Falcons take on the Seattle Seahawks. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are not getting any younger, and the Falcons added veteran running back Todd Gurley to the mix as well. Their plan is clear for 2020, and that is to outscore everyone. Will Russell Wilson and the Seahawks let that happen in Week 1? We will see, but expect fireworks in this one.
