Heisman Trophy Odds Tracker: Rattler, Uiagalelei, Young are Favorites

The most popular trophy in college football is of course the Heisman Trophy, which means that is without a doubt the most important player futures market available. Looking ahead to the 2022 college football season, it will certainly be a battle of the quarterbacks. Let’s take a look at possible candidates, odds, and updates for the 2022 Heisman Trophy betting market.
“The winner of the 2022 Heisman Trophy is…”
After an eventful 2020-2021 college football season, the winner of the Heisman Trophy was Alabama WR DeVonta Smith. After starting the year as the second option in the passing game, Smith’s role was magnified after Alabama lost Jaylen Waddle to injury. The rest is history, but now the attention turns to the 2022 Heisman Trophy, where Spencer Rattler is the heavy favorite to win the award. Let’s take a look at the latest Heisman Trophy odds, news, and more as we will update throughout the offseason and regular season come fall 2021.
Heisman Trophy Odds 2022
Here’s a look at the Heisman odds for each player, with prices shown from various legal sportsbooks.
Could Bryce Young Make a Heisman Run?
Yet again, another Alabama quarterback is in the running for a potential Heisman Trophy. This time, it is Bryce Young who may have the talent to be the best Alabama quarterback in recent years. That is saying a lot with Tua Tagavailoa and Mac Jones, but Young was just a freshman last season and was a five-star recruit. Plus, look at this throw in garbage time.
Young is third on the Heisman Trophy odds list, behind Rattler and Uiagalelei, but with a continued repertoire of wide receivers at his disposal along with a top-tier program, the Alabama quarterback is set for success in his first season as the starter. Time will tell if he is a true Heisman Trophy candidate, but it certainly looks like he will have a shot to compete for it.
Clemson’s D.J. Uiagalelei Odds Soar, Second on Odds List
Who is DJ Uiagalelei? If you do not know yet, you will this fall as Clemson’s latest five-star QB recruit takes over on offense. Uiagalelei is an absolute monster of a human being, drawing resemblances to Cam Newton with possibly an even stronger arm. Last season for Clemson, he threw 117 passes and completed 78 fo them for 914 yards and five scores while rushing for two more on the ground. Uiagalelei essentially started two games while Lawrence was out due to COVID, and threw for a total of 781 yards and four scores against Notre Dame and Boston College.
Clemson will likely not skip a beat, as Uiagalelei is just the latest star under center for the Tigers. His odds have risen to the second-shortest on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Spencer Rattler Opens as 2022 Heisman Trophy Favorite
2021 Heisman Trophy Opening Odds: Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler in the Lead
With DeVonta Smith winning the Heisman this year, all eyes are on the odds for next year’s award. Spencer Rattler leads, but here is a quick look at the top three.
Player | Odds to win 2022 Heisman Trophy |
---|---|
Spencer Rattler (QB, Oklahoma) | +300 |
Bryce Young (QB, Alabama) | +400 |
Sam Howell (QB, North Carolina) | +800 |
2022 looks to be the year of the quarterback, as the favorites are all signal-callers at some of the nation’s best programs. Will Spencer Rattler be the next Oklahoma QB to win the award? We will see.
Final 2020-21 DraftKings Heisman Trophy Odds and News
Player | 2020-2021 DraftKings Heisman OddsΒ (1/5) |
DeVonta Smith | -835 |
Mac Jones | +400 |
Trevor Lawrence | +1300 |
Kyle Trask | +5000 |
With the 2020 CFB regular season getting close to the end of the road, the college football futures market has been changing each week. The odds to win the 2021 Heisman were certainly built around the top quarterback with Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence leading the way and Spencer Rattler behind them at opening odds, but then moved to Kyle Trask and D’Eriq King behind the top two, then Alabama QB Mac Jones has stepped into the top three as of mid-October. As October approached came to a close, Mac Jones surpassed Fields and was now second behind Trevor Lawrence at +250. Then the unthinkable happened and Trevor Lawrence tested positive for COVID-19, pushing Mac Jones into the lead to win the Heisman Trophy. As of mid-November with Lawrence returning, it was a three-horse race with Fields, Lawrence, and Jones at the top.
Then as late-November hit, it became a four-horse race with Lawrence, Fields, Trask, and Jones all having extremely similar odds. After Thanksgiving, Kyle Trask moved to the top as the Heisman favorite. In the beginning of December, the odds moved closer for Trask and Jones, and Trevor Lawrence is still close enough at +500.
As of December 10th, it was a two-horse race between Kyle Trask at -125 and Mac Jones at +100. These two will battle it out in the SEC championship, and there is a chance the winner will have the Heisman Trophy winner at QB.
Just the following week after a poor performance by Kyle Trask, Mac Jones became the favorite at -155, with DeVonta Smith behind him at +150. Trask fell all the way to +450 and will need a monster performance in the SEC Championship.
After the college football playoff was released after the conference title games, five players remained. DeVonta Smith is the Heisman favorite, followed by teammate Mac Jones.

After the first round of the college football playoffs, Devonta Smith’s odds skyrocketed to -835 to win the Heisman. It’s his award to lose at this point. Let’s take a look at the Heisman updates from each week during the CFB regular season.

It has all come down to this week. With the conference championships taking place the week before Christmas in CFB, the odds will change all based on this week of games. The top four entering the conference championships are:
- Mac Jones (-155)
- DeVonta Smith (+150)
- Kyle Trask (+450)
- Trevor Lawrence (+2000)
All four will be playing in a conference championship, andΒ threeΒ of the above players will be playing in the SEC Championship (Jones, Smith, Trask). The only way that Trask can win it is with an absurd performance in the SEC title game, and likely a Florida win. If somehow it is a low-scoring game and Trevor Lawrence has the game of a lifetime, the Clemson quarterback could pull through. In all likelihood, Mac Jones will walk away with the Heisman Trophy or his teammate in DeVonta Smith would carry it. The odds will likely move in a big way, so be sure to keep tabs on the Heisman odds after the SEC and ACC Championship games.

The SEC championship will be the most important game in the 2020 Heisman Trophy race for one simple reason. As of nine days before the SEC championship, the two Heisman Trophy candidates with the best favorites are Kyle Trask (-125) and Mac Jones (+100). These two will face off in the SEC championship as Florida and Alabama battle it out. It is quite likely that the winner of this game will be quarterbacked by the Heisman winner, as they are neck and neck. While Trask has the advantage, Mac Jones is right behind him and is the leader of the best offense, and best team in college football. Here’s a look at the stock up and stock down for Week 14:

Week 13 wasΒ not a good week for Justin Fields, and his Heisman odds have fallen to +1000 to show for it. What that did was open the window again for Trevor Lawrence, but it also allowed Kyle Trask and Mac Jones to become the two at the top of the leaderboard. Trask remains as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy at -110, with Mac Jones following at +150. Here’s a quick look at the stock watch for Week 13.

With just a few weeks left in the CFB regular season, the Heisman Trophy race is shaking up to be an interesting finish. With that said, the favorite has clearly become Florida QB Kyle Trask at -134, followed by Justin Fields (+250), and Mac Jones (+300). Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence has fallen all the way to +1200, so he seems like a longshot to win a Heisman. Here is a look at the stock up and stock down entering Week 13 of the CFB season.

The Heisman Trophy race is one of the closest inΒ years in 2020, as four quarterbacks near the top seem to battle it out each week as far as odds are concerned. The four are Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Kyle Trask, and Mac Jones. These are also the quarterbacks of four of the best teams in college football. While team success is always an indicator for the Heisman, it is an individual award. With Lawrence returning from COVID-19, it will be interesting to see how his stock rises (or falls) during his play. Here is a look at stock up and stock down as we head into Week 12.

With Trevor Lawrence returning from COVID-19 in Week 11, his Heisman odds have increased to +175. It’s now a three-horse race between Fields, Lawrence, and Mac Jones. Behind them is Florida QB Kyle Trask who has very impressive stats, but the Gators have a loss and keep having their games postponed due to COVID. Trask is not a hot name like the top three, but if Florida upsets Alabama later in the season his odds could rise. One name to keep an eye on is quick-rise Zach Wilson from BYU. The Cougars have been very impressive in 2020 and it starts with the dual-threat quarterback. Here’s a look at the stock report entering Week 11.

Week 9 CFB Heisman Trophy Odds Update

Trevor Lawrence is no longer the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, as Mac Jones has taken over the lead. After Trevor Lawrence missed one game, the odds fell a bit but with Lawrence missing a second game against Notre Dame, he has fallen to +400 at DraftKings Sportsbook to win the 2021 Heisman Trophy. As of Week 10, it looks like Mac Jones and Justin Fields at the race to the top. When Lawrence returns, he will need to make up for lost time assuming Clemson continues to take care of business. Here’s a look at the stock as Week 10 begins:

Week 8 CFB Heisman Odds Update

Mac Jones’ odds continue to rise in the Heisman ranks, but it is no longer a two-man race with Justin Fields resuming play. In his first game, Fields went 20/21 with 276 yards and two scores through the air and added 54 and a score on the ground. Fields will certainly make his case all year with a short schedule, so Trevor Lawrence and Mac Jones will have to keep their torrid paces to stay ahead of the Ohio State quarterback. Lawrence is still the heavy favorite at -167, but Fields and Jones continue to close in. Week 9 will be a big one as all three are in action again.

Another year, another Alabama quarterback trending upwards in the Heisman Trophy race. Mac Jones’ odds haveΒ soared over the last few weeks and he has seen his odds climb to +350 at DraftKings Sportsbook to win the Heisman Trophy. Trevor Lawrence is still the heavy favorite at -167, but with the Crimson Tide continuing to put up large point totals, Jones is certainly cementing himself as a finalist for the award. What is interesting is the number of Alabama offensive players ranked in the top 15 for the Heisman, with Jones, Waddle, Harris, and DeVonta Smith all being +5000 or better. Here is a look at the stock watch for the Heisman Trophy odds entering Week 8:

Week 6 CFB Heisman Update
Trevor Lawrence’s odds have moved him to not only the heavy favorite, but a betting favorite at -105 at FanDuel Sportsbook. Second is Justin Fields at +600, then is Mac Jones at +700. After those three, the next closest in terms of Heisman odds is Kyle Trask at +2000. As of Week 7, it is a three-horse race behind the talented quarterbacks for each of the best teams in the big CFB conferences: ACC, SEC, and the B1G. Trevor Lawrence could continue to run away with the odds leaderboard if Clemson continues to win and put up points, but if Alabama continues to win and score with Mac Jones, he will climb the ranks. Ohio State starts back up on October 24th, which is when we could see QB Justin Fields’ odds climb. Here is a look at the stock watch entering Week 7 of CFB:
Stock Up:
- Trevor Lawrence
- Mac Jones

Stock Down:
- Kyle Trask

Week 5 CFB Heisman Update
Trevor Lawrence is the leader by himself again, sitting at +200 to win the Heisman Trophy at FanDuel Sportsbook. He is comfortably ahead of Justin Fields and Kyle Trask, who sit at +600 to win the award. In Week 6, Lawrence will face off against D’Eriq King of the Miami Hurricanes in a massive ACC matchup. If the Hurricanes can somehow upset the favored Clemson Tigers, King will undoubtedly move up the list in terms of Heisman odds. Expect Justin Fields’ odds to move as well once Ohio State resumes play, as Trevor Lawrence beingΒ that far ahead of Fields is an unlikely indicator of the future voting.
Stock Up:
- Trevor Lawrence
- Kyle Trask

Week 4 CFB Heisman Update
After Week 4, the Heisman Trophy odds market certainly changed. Entering the Week, Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields were atop the board together, that remains unchanged. But, who follows the top two is vastly different. Spencer Rattler has fallen to +3300 to win the Heisman Trophy, and two quarterbacks in D’Eriq King and Kyle Trask have jumped into the top four. Kyle Trask connected with his top target in Kyle Pitts en route to a passing onslaught that resulted in six touchdown passes for the Gators’ quarterback. As for D’Eriq King, the Miami Hurricanes are 3-0 and King has six touchdown passes and nearly 200 yards on the ground to go along with another score. While the Heisman Trophy favorites are still Lawrence and Fields, Trask and King have certainly made their cases through three weeks.
Week 3 CFB Heisman Update
With the Big Ten returning to play, the odds have shifted in the Heisman Trophy betting market. Not only does this hurt Trevor Lawrence and Spencer Rattler’s odds, but it also creates a new favorite in Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. Fields was the favorite before the Big Ten decided not to have a season, but after a periodic cancellation of the B1G schedule, he was removed. Now with the B1G starting back up, Fields leads the way at +250 (tied with Lawrence). Of the top players at +2500 odds or better, the only skill position players that have a legitimate shot to win as of Week 3 would be running backs Najee Harris or Travis Etienne. But, with a loaded class of quarterbacks it is fully expected to be a signal caller to take home the trophy in 2020.
Stock Up:
- Justin Fields
- JT Daniels
- D’Wan Mathis
Stock Down:
- Chuba Hubbard
- Trevor Lawrence (with B1G returning)

In 2018, Kyler Murray was +700 at the end of the college football season and Tua Tagovailoa was -1000, but Murray snuck through and won the 2018 Heisman Trophy. Who will be this year’s Kyler Murray?
