Betting on the World Series in 2020 is a bit different due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless the season resumed for a short version of a baseball year, and DraftKings Sportsbook began taking bets on the World Series. As the MLB Playoffs progressed, the Los Angeles Dodgers were the favorites but fell behind in the NLCS. Then, they got hot at the right time and won the World Series against the Rays. 2020 MLB MVP Odds
Despite a shortened season for baseball, there are still plenty of futures to be had. This includes betting on the MVP. We took at look at the NL MVP odds and AL MVP odds. Starting with the National League, here are some of the NL MVP odds, courtesy of BetMGM:
NL MVP Odds
Player | NL MVP Odds |
Mookie Betts | +500 |
Ronald Acuna | +600 |
Cody Bellinger | +700 |
Christian Yelich | +800 |
Juan Soto | +1100 |
Nolan Arenado | +1600 |
Fernando Tatis Jr. | +2000 |
Bryce Harper | +2000 |
Manny Machado | +2000 |
Ketel Marte | +2400 |
Javy Baez | +2500 |
Kris Bryant | +2500 |
Freddie Freeman | +2500 |
Anthony Rizzo | +4000 |
Jacob deGrom | +4000 |
Pete Alonso | +4000 |
Paul Goldschmidt | +4000 |
Max Scherzer | +4000 |
Corey Seager | +4000 |
Trevor Story | +4000 |
Max Muncy | +5000 |
Eugenio Suarez | +5000 |
Ozzie Albies | +5000 |
Two of the top three in terms of NL MVP odds are Dodgers, and Mookie Betts leads the charge at +500. After coming over from the Boston Red Sox in the offseason, the Dodgers look to make a major push for the World Series in 2020. That starts with Mookie Betts, who leads a star-studded lineup. Behind Betts are Ronald Acuna and Cody Bellinger.
AL MVP Odds
Player | AL MVP Odds |
Mike Trout | +150 |
Aaron Judge | +900 |
Francisco Lindor | +1000 |
Anthony Rendon | +1300 |
Gleyber Torres | +1300 |
Alex Bregman | +2000 |
Matt Chapman | +2000 |
Josh Donaldson | +2000 |
Jose Ramirez | +2500 |
George Springer | +2500 |
Xander Bogaerts | +3000 |
Shohei Ohtani | +3000 |
Carlos Correa | +4000 |
Giancarlo Stanton | +4000 |
Jose Altuve | +4000 |
Rafael Devers | +4000 |
DJ LeMahieu | +4000 |
J.D. Martinez | +5000 |
Marcus Semien | +5000 |
Gerrit Cole | +5000 |
Yasmani Grandal | +5000 |
Matt Olson | +5000 |
Austin Meadows | +5000 |
As for the American League MVP odds, it is quite literally Mike Trout then everyone else. Trout sits at +150 to win the AL MVP per BetMGM, and the next closest in terms of odds are Aaron Judge at +900. If Mike Trout plays a full season, he is undoubtedly the overwhelming favorite to win the AL MVP, but if he sits for a bit due to the coronavirus pandemic, who will step up? Alex Bregman at +2000 is a solid bet.

2020 MLB Cy Young Odds
As for the other popular futures market, the two Cy Young award markets will be very interesting with the new rules. For 2020, pitchers will have to face a DH all season long against every single team. There are a large number of pitchers that have struggled in interleague, but have excelled against NL lineups. This slightly evens the playing field for all. Let’s take a look at both leagues.
NL Cy Young Odds
Player | NL Cy Young Odds |
Jacob deGrom | +280 |
Max Scherzer | +450 |
Jack Flaherty | +800 |
Walker Buehler | +1000 |
Stephen Strasburg | +1100 |
Clayton Kershaw | +1200 |
Luis Castillo | +2000 |
Patrick Corbin | +2500 |
Yu Darvish | +2500 |
Aaron Nola | +2500 |
Trevor Bauer | +2500 |
Max Fried | +3000 |
Dinelson Lamet | +3000 |
Mike Soroka | +3000 |
Josh Hader | +3300 |
Sonny Gray | +4000 |
Chris Paddack | +4000 |
David Price | +4000 |
Robbie Ray | +5000 |
Zack Wheeler | +5000 |
Brandon Woodruff | +5000 |
Jon Gray | +5000 |
To no one’s surprise, Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer lead the way for NL Cy Young odds, as both have been atop the NL in terms of pitching ability for a few seasons. deGrom is the favorite at +280, and is very popular amongst MLB bettors. A sleeper could be Trevor Bauer at +2500, or Luis Castillo at +2000, both of the Cincinnati Reds.
AL Cy Young Odds
Player | AL Cy Young Odds |
Gerrit Cole | +265 |
Justin Verlander | +600 |
Chris Sale | +650 |
Mike Clevinger | +1000 |
Blake Snell | +1100 |
Charlie Morton | +1100 |
Shane Bieber | +1100 |
Tyler Glasnow | +1200 |
Lucas Giolito | +1800 |
Carlos Carrasco | +2000 |
Zack Grienke | +2500 |
Corey Kluber | +2500 |
Jose Berrios | +2500 |
Hyun Jin Ryu | +2500 |
Lance Lynn | +3000 |
Lance McCullers Jr. | +4000 |
Frankie Montas | +4000 |
Matthew Boyd | +5000 |
Shohei Ohtani | +5000 |
Eduardo Rodriguez | +5000 |
Jake Odorizzi | +6000 |
Mike Minor | +7000 |
James Paxton | +8000 |
Nathan Eovaldi | +8000 |
The American League Cy Young odds chart has a very familiar group of faces at the top, with the class of the league in Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander, and Chris Sale. All are +650 or higher to win the Cy Young, and good arguments can be made for each. One player to keep an eye on is Tyler Glasnow at +1200, and Shane Bieber at +1100. Both young pitchers are looking to continue their impressing young careers with excellent 2020 campaigns.
