Oral Roberts shocked the world in the first round by beating Ohio State. The Buckeyes came into the NCAA Tournament playing well, but they couldn’t handle the offensive onslaught from Oral Roberts.
Sophomore Max Abmas, the leading scorer in the country, can light it up from deep. His running mate, Kevin Obanor is also a marksman from deep, connecting on 46.4% of his three-point attempts this season. The pair combined for 59 points in the upset win over Ohio State.
In short, if Florida wants to take care of business against this 15 seed, they will need to shut down at least one of Abmas or Obanor. If they can shut down both, they will win this running away. But doing that is easier said than done.
Offensively, the Gators play through point guard Tre Mann and grad transfer Colin Castleton. Mann is a potential first-round pick in the NBA Draft this year and leads the Gators in scoring (15.9 ppg) and assists (3.4 apg). Castleton only averaged 6.3 rebounds per game during the regular season, but he went off for 14 boards in Friday’s win. He added 19 rebounds and three massive blocks for good measure.

Pick: Oral Roberts Gives Florida A Scare
This is a tough game to bet on the spread. Oral Roberts can score enough to keep up with any team in the country, but the Gators have the size with Castleton to cause problems inside. If you are dying to bet on the spread, go with the Gators to cover, but the better bet is on the over here. It’s high at 148.5, but these teams are going to fill it up. They both had a game to get the jitters out. Expect a ton of points on Sunday.
The Pick: Over 148.5
Final Score Prediction: Florida Wins 83-74
