Saturday football in the NFL? Yep, it’s that time of year again.
For the Week 15 slate, the NFL will provide a pair of Saturday games to its loyal fans, one of which will be taking place at Lambeau Field between the red-hot Packers and struggling Panthers. Carolina is 4-9 heading into this matchup and pretty much out of the postseason race while the 10-3 Packers have clinched the NFC North division and are in a tight battle for the No. 1 seed in the conference.
This is most certainly a must-win game for the Panthers if they want to somehow, in some way, make the postseason. However, given the Saints are also 10-3 and en route to potentially achieving the top spot in the NFC, this game is also a must-win for Green Bay.
This Action Rush NFL betting guide provides odds, props, and analysis for the Packers-Panthers Saturday night Week 15 matchup.
Packers – Panthers Week 15 Odds (Saturday)
Per DraftKings Sportsbook, the Packers enter as 8.5-point home favorites and are -400 on the moneyline while the Panthers are +330. The total is set at over-under 51.5. There’s pretty decent value on the Packers spread, considering they’re the more talented and productive team and will be playing at “The Frozen Tundra,” where they’re 5-1 in 2020.
The Packers are 8-5 against the spread and 7-6 (O-U) when it comes to the total. Carolina, on the other hand, is 7-6 against the spread and 7-5-1 (O-U) with the total. Green Bay is obviously better outright though and has actually won 11 of their last 12 games at Lambeau Field.

Game Preview and Betting Angles
This is the first time the Packers will be facing the Panthers since Week 10 of last year, a matchup in which Green Bay emerged victorious by a score of 24-16 and covered the 5.0-point spread. The under (49.0) additionally hit in that game. If the Packers want to remain at home throughout the NFC playoffs, they’ll need to notch a big victory on Saturday night.
Panthers Game Notes
The Panthers enter this week having lost each of their last two games and are currently at the bottom of the NFC South division at 4-9. They’re led by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who’s thrown for 3,102 yards and 14 touchdowns in his inaugural season with the Panthers. The ground game, however, is led by Mike Davis instead of Christian McCaffrey. The superstar back is experiencing an injury-plagued season and has played in just three games.
Davis has rushed for 555 yards and five touchdowns through 13 games and is averaging 4.1 yards per carry. He’s coming off a 51-yard, two-touchdown performance against Denver, a game in which the Panthers lost 32-27.
The Panthers defense hasn’t been stellar in 2020 and will have a tough task on its hands facing the legendary Aaron Rodgers. Carolina’s unit is allowing 364.4 yards and 25.5 points per game.
Packers Game Notes
A good reason why the Packers are fighting for the top spot in the NFC is because of the 2020 performance from their quarterback. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 3,685 yards, 39 touchdowns, and just four interceptions this season with three games still to be played on the regular-season slate. He’s on pace for 48 touchdown passes — what would be a career-high.
His top target, wideout Davante Adams, is having a tremendous season as well, having caught 91 balls for 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns.
As a whole, Green Bay’s offense is atop the league in scoring (31.5 points per game), second in passing (273.8 yards per game), and second in total offense (397.6 yards per game).
On the defensive side of the ball, Adrian Amos is leading the team in tackles (62 combined) from the free safety spot while outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith leads the team with 10.5 sacks in what’s been a very productive season for him.
Needless to say, the Packers are the more talented team in this matchup and should find a way to notch their 11th victory of the season.
How To Watch Packers – Panthers
- Date: Saturday, Dec. 19
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Lambeau Field (Green Bay, Wisconsin)
- TV: FOX, NFL Network
Prediction: Packers Win Easily and Cover
The Packers will be too much for this weak Panthers team and should find a way to win as well as cover the spread. To be honest, winning by at least nine points won’t be much of a challenge for Green Bay, and given its talented offense along with Carolina’s serviceable one, expect the total to surpass 51 points.
Take the Packers -8.5, and also take the over (51).
