Another online sportsbook has launched in the state of Indiana, as PointsBet is now taking bets in the Hoosier State. This was widely expected, as an announcement from the Indiana Gaming Commission in January reported that PointsBet had received a vendor’s license. This timing could not be better, as Indiana is known for its rich basketball history and now PointsBet will be live ahead of March Madness. Not only will PointsBet be able to take advantage of the NCAA Tournament, but conference tournament play is in mid-March and of course baseball season begins in late March.
PointsBet Sportsbook is an Australian-based company that has been a “secondary” sportsbook in the US legal sports betting space after DraftKings and FanDuel. But after some aggressive and creative marketing and their own style of betting, PointsBet is here to stay as evidenced by its entry into the Indiana online sports betting market. Let’s take a look at how to get started at PointsBet Indiana.
How to Sign Up at PointsBet Indiana
To sign up and play at PointsBet Indiana, there are just a few easy steps.

New PointsBet players in Indiana, New Jersey, and Iowa are eligible for up to $1000 in risk-free bets. Once Illinois and Colorado are ready to offer legal sports betting, PointsBet will be available for those players as well.
PointsBet is a very unique sportsbook from a view vantage points. For one, they have a “Karma Kommittee” which refunds bets that are lost due to bad beats or other reasons. This led to PointsBet refunding all Yankees AL and World Series futures after the Astros cheating scandal.

In addition, PointsBet has their own exclusive type of betting appropriately called “PointsBetting”, where a user can win (or lose) money based on just how right (or wrong) they are!
PointsBet Indiana’s Exclusive ‘PointsBetting’
PointsBetting is PointsBet’s own unique way of betting, which can bring great rewards. With that said, it could be quite risky as well. Here is how it works:
Say you are betting a football game between the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots, and the total is set at 54 points. PointsBetting works based on units, and how many points a bet goes over or under. If your betting unit is $10, and you bet over 54, and the final score resulted in 64 total points, you’d win $10 in units for each point over. This would result in a $100 win on a $10 bet. If you lose however, you could lose $100 on a $10 bet if you bet the under, and the total was 64 points.
- Unit (Per Point Dollar Amount)
- Wager itself (over or under)
- However many points over or under, multiply that by your units wagered for a win or loss
This is a risky type way to wager, but it also comes with great potential rewards.
