This week is the Divisional Round in the NFL, and everyone’s favorite late night SportsCenter host in Scott Van Pelt is hosting the show, per the ESPN schedule on television. Will we get some of his betting picks for this weekend’s NFL playoff games? Time will tell. SVP also has a podcast with Stanford Steve where he provides picks as well. We will details those picks here as well.

Scott Van Pelt is one of the more popular late night television hosts around, and by far the most popular sports segment with his “Winners” segment discussing betting picks. Admittedly, SVP is not a professional handicapper but he has certainly provided entertainment each and every week and some moderate success with CFB and NFL picks.

SVP has not had picks in a few weeks, with battles against the coronavirus, the holiday schedule, and the end of the college football season. His “SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt” returned this week though. Let’s take a look.

SVP NFL Picks – Divisional Round

As SportsCenter begins on Thursday Night, it looks like “SC @ Night”, rather than SVP’s SportsCenter. Luckily, as you can see above, on the latest “SVPod” with Scott and Stanford Steve, the tandem discusses the betting picks they like most for this weekend in the NFL. Here is a look at both SVP and Stanford Steve’s picks on the SVP podcast.

Van Pelt’s NFL Picks

  • Baltimore Ravens (+2.5) vs. Buffalo Bills
  • Cleveland Browns (+10) vs. Kansas City Chiefs
  • Packers (-7) vs. Los Angeles Rams

Stanford Steve NFL Picks

  • Buffalo Bills (-2.5) vs. Baltimore Ravens
  • Cleveland Browns (+10) vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Stanford Steve also said he would be rooting for Bills and Browns in the AFC Championship game, and that he hates the Saints offense. So there is that, in lieu of SVP’s SportsCenter.

Van Pelt’s CFB Betting Record finished at 27-27-1

The 2020-2021 college football season was good to SVP for a stretch, but two bad weeks to finish the CFB regular season brought him back to .500 on the year. The CFB season is of course over as Alabama defeated Ohio State in the National Championship. We tracked all of SVP’s picks for this season, and here is a look at his record from each week.

Year-to-date record: 27-27-1
