Each and every week on the Thursday edition of ESPN’s SportsCenter, Scott Van Pelt provides some of his favorite betting picks for college football. His famous segment “Bad Beats” is a hit, but his “Winners” just as popular. This week is no different, as SVP has quite the handful of CFB picks.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at Scott Van Pelt’s bettings picks for Week 3 in college football. In addition to his picks, we will go through his betting picks from last week, his record for this season, and his career on “Winners”. Finally, we’ll take a look at the latest odds for this week.
SVP Picks for College Football Week 3
Van Pelt has a whopping eight picks against the spread for Week 3 in college football, and they are all underdogs. Below is a look at his full betting card for Week 3.
Illinois +7.5 vs. Maryland
SVP says he’s rooting for the Terps, but -7.5 is too much. He likes Illinois here, but is 0-2 all time against Maryland.
Indiana +3.5 vs. Cincinnati
Indiana has already lost a game to Iowa, but so what says SVP. He likes them +3.5 against a very good Cincy team.
Florida +14.5 vs. Alabama
SVP is 5-8 all time against Alabama. “Going against Alabama is the worst” says SVP, but he’s doing it anyway.
Memphis +3 vs. Mississippi State
Memphis is at home, and is a home dog this week. SVP loves the home dogs, and is taking a high-powered Memphis team here.
Purdue +7 vs. Notre Dame
Notre Dame has not been as good as they should be here, and Purdue is getting a touchdown. SVP is picking against the Irish.
Colorado State +14.5 vs. Toledo
14.5 is a lot of points, and CSU is not very good. But SVP is talking about positivity today, as he quotes CSU’s coach Steve Addazio. SVP likes the two-touchdown plus the hook.
Vanderbilt +12 vs. Stanford
SVP is betting on one of the worst teams in college football. He will take a dozen, and he says “no one will have Vandy and CSU, but we will.”
Tulane +14 vs. Ole Miss
His last pick for this week is Tulane getting two touchdowns in an offensive game.
Week 3 SVParlay
Each week, there is a graphic on SportsCenter that shows SVP’s picks if they were parlayed together. This week’s shows a massive potential return.
