After a two-week hiatus, SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt is back. SVP gave away his betting picks on social media for the last two weekends, but he is back in the studio. The “Winners” segment is among the most popular on night-time TV, and we track each and every pick each week. This week is no different.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at Scott Van Pelt’s betting picks for Week 9 in college football. In addition, you’ll find the betting history from SVP on a week-to-week basis along with the last two seasons. Finally, we look at the best odds for this week in college football to help your ROI.
SVP Picks for College Football Week 9
Every Thursday Night on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt, SVP gives his favorite betting picks for the week in college football. This is not an information-filled set of picks, as SVP gives his choices, some brief reasoning (some tongue-in-cheek) and some laughter on set. With this being the first “Winners” segment back in the studio after two weeks, this will be a fun set of picks. Let’s take a look at his action for Week 9.

Florida Gators +14 vs. Georgia Bulldogs
Scott loves the Gators getting TWO touchdowns this week.
Mississippi State +1.5 vs. Kentucky
SVP talks about Mike Leach’s love for candy, so he likes MSST this week.
Washington +2.5 vs. Stanford
Why? SVP doesn’t know, he has. But he has Washington.
California +1.5 vs. Oregon State
SVP is not afraid of Oregon State, as he backs Berkeley.
Wisconsin -3.5 vs. Iowa
The Badgers are favored but unranked at home against a ranked team. General principle game.
Houston -1.5 vs. SMU
SVP takes an unranked team at home again.
NC State -6.5 vs. Louisville
This is one that SVP added for no reason, really. He just wanted seven picks.
Stanford Steve’s Pick This Week
Kansas +30.5 vs. Oklahoma State. THIRTY POINTS.

Should I bet on Scott Van Pelt’s betting picks?
If you are wondering if Scott Van Pelt is worth tailing, the answer is yes and no. SVP has never claimed himself to be a top handicapper, as his picks are just for entertaining purposes. With that said, he is above .500 on the season and for his career. Given that he picks mostly upsets, that is relatively impressive. With that said, the “Winners” segment is still for entertainment first, picks second. Let’s look at his betting records on a week-to-week basis this year.
