As we do each and every week at ActionRush, it’s Scott Van Pelt’s “Winner$” for the current week of NFL and college football. Every Thursday Night (into Friday morning) on SportsCenter, the ever-popular Scott Van Pelt makes his favorite picks for the upcoming slate of games.

While SVP is admittedly not the sharpest bettor, as he will say himself, he will make his selections each and every week and has found some success at times. We will cover his picks, track record from week to week, and show his history for both NFL and CFB bets.

Last week was not a great one for SVP, going 2-2 in CFB and 1-2 in the NFL. Here is a look at SVP’s picks for Week 5 in the NFL and Week 6 in college football.

SVP College Football Picks – Week 6

SVP discusses three games for this week in CFB. Here is a look at who SVP likes for his “Winner$” picks for Week 6 in college football.

ECU +4 vs. USF

“Why ECU +4? Valid question. But you know how we roll here” says SVP. What he means is he just mentions the picks, no rhyme or reason behind it! SVP takes ECU +4 as the first of three underdogs for Week 6 in CFB.

Texas A&M +6.5 vs. Florida

SVP mentions he likes two teams that “failed him” in Week 5, and he is going back to the well. He likes TAMU +6.5 against the Florida Gators, with a full touchdown underdog being too many points for TAMU, per SVP.

Vanderbilt +14.5 vs. South Carolina

Vanderbilt AGAIN, says SVP. After losing on Vandy in Week 5, SVP likes them again in Week 6 against another SEC foe in the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Scott Van Pelt Week 5 NFL Picks

As SVP does each week, he picks his favorite NFL games. While he only likes two games this week, here are his picks for Week 5 in the NFL.

Minnesota Vikings +7 at Seattle Seahawks

SVP likes two road dogs in Week 5, starting with the Minnesota Vikings against the Seahawks. SVP loves picking the underdogs, and picking seven points for the struggling Vikings seems a bit bold. We’ll see.

Philadelphia Eagles +7 at Pittsburgh Steelers

The battle for Pennsylvania has SVP intrigued, but he is taking the Eagles +7 in this one. Carson Wentz has certainly struggled this year, but he looked much better in Week 4. Can Philadelphia make it two in a row? SVP is taking the Eagles with a touchdown as his second and final NFL pick of the week.

SVP 2020 CFB Picks move to 5-5

Last week in Week 5, SVP’s record was 2-2 for CFB. He went .500 in Week 5, losing on Vanderbilt and Texas A&M, and has moved to 5-5 on the season. Here’s a look at last week’s picks:

  • SMU +2.5 vs. Memphis (Win)
  • Vanderbilt +21 vs. LSU (Loss)
  • West Virginia +2.5 vs. Baylor (Win)
  • Texas A&M +17.5 vs. Alabama (Loss)

Here is a look at Van Pelt’s CFB picks record by week so far in 2020:

Year-to-date: 5-5

SVP 2020 NFL Picks Record at 5-7 entering Week 5

SVP struggled in Week 4 of the NFL with his picks, going 1-2 in the NFL. He lost on Miami and Las Vegas, but won the Panthers +3.5. Here were SVP’s Week 4 picks:

  • Miami +6.5 vs. Seattle (Loss)
  • Raiders +3 vs. Buffalo (Loss)
  • Carolina +3.5 vs. Arizona (Win)

On the season, SVP is 5-7 in the NFL. Here is a look at SVP’s NFL picks record, and how he has done each week:

Year-to-date: 5-7

Week 6 CFB Odds

While last week was a terrific week of college football, Week 6 is set to be the best of the season so far. With plenty of ranked matchups on the schedule, there will be plenty to watch. Week 6 will certainly impact the CFB futures market, with Heisman Trophy hopefuls in Trevor Lawrence and D’Eriq King face off in a ACC showdown. Add in Texas vs. Oklahoma, VT and UNC, Florida and TAMU and more, and we’re set for a great week of college football. Here is a look at the odds:

Week 5 NFL Odds

This week in the NFL will be a weird one, as there is likely going to be two (if not three) games moved to a later date amidst coronavirus concerns. After a thrilling Thursday Night Football matchup between the Bears and Bucs resulted in a Bears upset, here is a look at this week’s matchups in the NFL.
