Big Ben is back! Adam Schefter reported on Twitter on Thursday afternoon that the Steelers have signed Ben Roethlisberger to a new contract for the 2021 NFL season, which means Pittsburgh will not have a new quarterback this season. This brings back the Steelers’ veteran for yet another year in the black and yellow, as Pittsburgh looks to run it back after a great year ended abruptly in 2020-2021.

Here’s a look at the news.

Steelers Super Bowl Odds Rise to +3000

At DraftKings Sportsbook, the Steelers Super Bowl odds are shored up at 30:1, as the Steelers will have their quarterback for the 2021 season. That is only half the value of this deal though, as the Steelers have created some cap space to help with their offseason plans.

This move frees up some cap space, as Ben’s cap hit was close to $40M before this move. This gives the Steelers a massive boost to their offseason plans, as they now have some flexibility to tag and/or sign players like Bud Dupree or JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Pittsburgh Steelers Odds

With Ben Roethlisberger back in Pittsburgh, the Steelers’ offseason plans have become much more clear. They likely will not spend a high pick on a quarterback, but will try to add weapons or defensive help. Once the NFL Draft and NFL free agency occurs, more NFL futures will be available to wager on.

You can expect to see the Steelers listed for odds in the following betting markets:

  • Super Bowl Winner
  • AFC Championship
  • Player Futures
  • Win Totals
