There is an overwhelming betting favorite so far on this prop, as a whopping 50% of the betting handle has come in on Yellow/Green Gatorade on DraftKings Sportsbook. Currently, the odds are +450 for the Gatorade to be Yellow/Green, and bettors are laying some heavy bets on this particular prop. “Only” 26% of the bets have come in on Yellow/Green, but with half of the betting handle that clearly indicates some heavy money on Yellow/Green. Orange is next in terms of total bets at 19% of all bets, but that is only bringing in 7% of the betting handle.
A dark horse of purple Gatorade with 12:1 odds have a large chunk of 14% of the betting handle, but the lowest amount of total bets of the choices at just 7% of the bets. This means some heavy money has come in on purple at +1200 as well.

Gatorade Shower History
Is there research to be done on this prop? Is there an edge to be gained? Let’s take a look:
The last 10 Super Bowls of data has not been as mixed a bag as you may believe.
- 4 Orange Gatorade Showers
- 2 Blue Gatorade Showers
- 2 “None”
- 1 Yellow Gatorade Shower
- 1 Purple Gatorade Shower
Without a doubt, “Orange” is the favorite based on history of the last 10 years but that has not been the recent trend. There has been a different color each year since 2015, and there is no recent historical data on the Chiefs and/or 49ers or their coaches given the fact that this is the first team these two teams and coaches have been to the Super Bowl in quite some time. Since the beginning of Gatorade showers, the only times that “none” has occurred was from Bill Belichick (three times) and Brian Billick (once).
While none is a long shot at +1500, there are clear outcomes for that to happen if the game ends on a final play, or if there is a coach that just escapes it before it can happen.
