As the NFL playoffs divisional round approaches in the second weekend of January, there are four games that promise to be another great weekend of action in the NFL.
NFL Playoffs are among the most popular betting markets of the season due to the small slate of games and huge live in-game betting opportunities at legal sports betting sites.
First on the docket is the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday at 4:35EST. Which team will take one step closer to the 2020 Super Bowl?
Vikings – 49ers 2020 Playoff Game Details:

- TV: NBC
- Odds: 49ers -6.5, o/u 45.5
Vikings – 49ers Odds
As of Monday afternoon, the 49ers are currently -6.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. That means the Vikings are +6.5. Both prices are -110.
The Vikings are touchdown underdogs again in the Divisional Round, after being 8-point dogs in the Wild Card round, which was an OT win against the Saints.
Be sure to keep an eye on the line during the week, as the movement will tell us which way sharp money is coming in.
Over-Under Set At 45.5 Points
The opening total for 49ers/Vikings sits at 45.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook, with a -110 price on both sides.
Given the total of the Saints/Vikings in the Wild Card round coming to 46 points (26-20, Vikings) this total is quite interesting.
Both defenses have plenty of talent, and neither team is known for passing the football. On the surface, this game looks like a classic football game build on defense and the running game on both sides.
That means one thing, the under is likely the smarter pick, on the surface. 45.5 points is just over six touchdowns and a field goal, so that requires at least seven scores.
Will The Vikings Money-Line Hit Again?
The 49ers open up as a -278 favorite for the money-line, which means there is a massive value on the Vikings at +240. +240 means if you were to bet $10 on the Vikings, you get 2.4 times your bet if they win straight up.
The Vikings already have a win under their belt as a big underdog in this year’s playoffs, upsetting the Saints in New Orleans 26-20.
With the Vikings having momentum after a road win in the Wild Card round against the Saints, they will be taking on a much more talented defense in the 49ers. With that being said, the Saints offense has more overall skill position talent than the 49ers do given Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas, but the 49ers have a better running game led by George Kittle as an anchor blocker.
With an extra week to rest and prepare, expect the 49ers to be ready and healthy.
49ers – Vikings 2020 Playoff Prediction
Currently, sportsbooks at SF -6.5 with a total of 45.5 has this game set at an implied 26-19.5 in favor of the 49ers.
Given the Vikings performance in New Orleans against Drew Brees and the Saints, expect more money on the Vikings than there probably should be given recency bias. With Kwon Alexander back and a terrific 49ers defensive front, it will be much harder for the Vikings to run the football.
San Francisco 49ers – 24
Minnesota Vikings – 17
With the current lines, this means the 49ers -6.5 and under 45.5.
