Despite all of the back and forth leading up to the college football betting season, we will have football this year. Games begin this weekend and although the big-time schools in major conferences won’t be taking the field, there are six games scheduled for Saturday and one on Monday.

There are a number of small schools playing this weekend and it will mark the start of football in 2020. Most major conferences won’t begin play until late September and Week 1 of the NFL kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 10.

For the time being, these small schools will have all the spotlight and attention of college football fans. Eastern Kentucky and Marshall have the honor of playing the first game of the 2020 season. All of this weekend’s games can be seen on ESPN and ESPN3 and there’s even one matchup that is listed on DraftKings Sportsbook.

You Can Bet On Austin Peay vs. Central Arkansas

Austin Peay vs. Central Arkansas is the first college football game of the season that bettors can place wagers on. The matchup between the two small schools might not carry the same weight as a matchup between say an SEC blue blood and a Big 12 powerhouse, but there should be significant action on this matchup given the fact that it’s the first weekend of the season.
