Sam Darnold is the favorite at +700 on DraftKings, but the odds for the top four players are close between him, Fitzpatrick, Goff, and Wilson as all are between +700 and +900. When it comes to betting on this prop market, the key is to find players with a lot of expected passing volume.
How to bet on NFL interception leaders
Looking to wager on this prop? Here are some tips to find the best bets.
- Find a pass-happy offense.
- Look for a QB on a team with low win totals.
- Find young quarterbacks with inexperience.
- Look at INT% (interception rate) for NFL stats.
In addition, there are some players that you just know will be quite reckless with the football such as Jameis Winston, Carson Wentz, Drew Lock, and more.
Who will lead the NFL in interceptions?
This is certainly a betting market that will generate quite the debate amongst bettors, as the betting favorite is Sam Darnold for the 2021-2022 season. The other quarterbacks at the top of the odds are Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jared Goff, Zach Wilson, Jalen Hurts, and Trevor Lawrence. With a tough market to predict, it is worth taking a shot on some longer odds.
Below are our picks to lead the NFL in interceptions, including Jameis Winston at +3000. While Winston may not start, he has been known in the past to be quite the risk-taker and he led the NFL in interceptions in 2019 with 30 in his last season as a starter.
NFL Interception Leader Betting Picks
- Zach Wilson +900
- Daniel Jones +1400
- Jameis Winston +3000
Jameis Winston interceptions in 2019: 30
Tom Brady interceptions from 2016-2019: 29

Bet on Zach Wilson to lead the NFL in interceptions
For decades, there has been a trend among rookie quarterbacks where they’ve always thrown more interceptions than their counterparts for many reasons. Wilson is a great bet in this case, given the jump in talent from his collegiate schedule to playing in the NFL.
Currently, Wilson is at +900 to throw the most interceptions. Given that the Jets are unlikely to win a lot of games, his passing volume is expected to be quite high. While he only threw 15 picks in three seasons at BYU before the NFL Draft, the NFL is a different beast.
