After the Super Bowl, the most popular NFL event in the offseason is the NFL Draft. In recent years, betting on the NFL Draft has become one of the craziest betting markets across legal sportsbooks as the NFL Draft is always relatively unpredictable after the first few picks…or is it? Many bettors have seen success in the NFL Draft market because of betting types such as wagering on the first player at their position to be drafted.

Here is a look at one of the more popular NFL Draft prop betting markets available, which wide receiver will be drafted first. There are a few candidates including LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase, the Alabama tandem in either DeVonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle, and even longshots like Rashod Bateman, Rondale Moore and others. We will go over the odds, some highlights, and other NFL Draft betting markets available at FanDuel Sportsbook.

First WR Drafted Odds at FanDuel Sportsbook

At FanDuel Sportsbook, there are nine choices for who will be the first WR drafted at FanDuel Sportsbook. Here’s a look at the latest odds, as Ja’Marr Chase leads the way.

Player Odds to be First WR Drafted
Ja’Marr Chase -470
DeVonta Smith +500
Jaylen Waddle +800
Rashod Bateman +6000
Kadarius Toney +10000
Terrace Marshall Jr +11000
Rondale Moore +12000
Amon-Ra St. Brown +14000
Tylan Wallace +14000

The top three players are consensus, with Chase, DeVonta Smith, and Jaylen Waddle leading the way. Chase’s odds have skyrocketed to -470 after a terrific pro day but Smith and Waddle’s odds are lingering. We have seen stranger things in the past, as teams have “reached” for receivers early.

Ja’Marr Chase is the Favorited to be the First WR Drafted

To no one’s surprise after a tremendous pro day, LSU’s Chase is the favorite to be the first WR drafted at -470 on FanDuel Sportsbook. LSU fans remember just how dominant he was two seasons ago, but here is a refresher on his abilities.

Given that his odds have drastically moved over the last few months, he is likely a heavy favorite to be the first WR drafted, but where will he go? In our NFL Mock Draft, we have the Miami Dolphins taking Chase at sixth overall to pair with Tua Tagovailoa and his new set of weapons. The Dolphins could use a few players, but they traded back out of the top four and will have options at sixth overall.

When will DeVonta Smith be drafted?

Last year’s Heisman Trophy winner in DeVonta Smith is not the favorite to be the first WR drafted, but will someone shock the world and take him over Chase? It would not surprise many, especially Alabama fans who watched him wreak havoc on opposing defenses last year. Take a look at his Heisman season highlights below.

At FanDuel Sportsbook, Smith is +500 to be drafted. This means if you wager $10 and he is the first WR picked, you will win $50. Is that worth taking at the moment given his talent? Time will tell, but he certainly seems like a lock to be either the first or second receiver taken. If you believe that he is either one or two, there are prices at various sportsbooks where you could give yourself a chance to profit either way given his and Chase’s prices.
